I make it a point to do both.  Kissing, rubbing her feet, rubbing her back, making her feel special.  And she will still feel special when she's balls deep in me and I'm telling her that I'm her little whore.  Or when I'm banging the shit out of her.  I'm a thorough lover, and I will never do just one or the other.

If I 'had' to choose between the two, passionate lovemaking is always best.  

I think the idea of making love makes things more intimate and therefore intense from the inside out. Once the girl senses that you care about her beyond the intercourse, even though it might be just for an hour or two, the body rhythms get going and what happens becomes a special time.
