Am taking a trip to TJ next month. Is Bambi's still closed? Any alternatives?

Here it from someone who experienced it.  A few things about TJ.

The TS stuff is at night mainly. Dark streets, bad areas.  There is stuff close to Bambi's but I don't know the club names.  I was in the Bambi area at a regular club and was walking down the street about 12AM. Got jumped and my wallet stolen, cops about 50 yards away, playing stupid.  If you go, go in pairs and do not let the other person out of your sight.  Also, the cops look for drunk gringos at 2AM shakedowns.

After what I went through, I leared the hard way. Its just not worth it.  The cops are crooked, they look for drunk americans to shake down, the crooks are there in packs.  When I got attacked, I had a guy strangle me from behind and body slam me to the ground and I was not in the dark TS area but in the middle of a very busy area. I am also not a little timid guy.   Little thugs came up and stole everything in 30 secs.  I had to lock down my credit......they are still trying to get my credit cards re-instated.  I would not doubt it if the cops were in on it as well. They did nothing to try and help.

Find a nice one traveling and staying in San Diego and save your self some grief and maybe your life.

Next time honey you'll have to go with me... I'll protect you.

And guys, he's right.  The cops prey on solo gringos and pairs of guys at night.  DON'T take any credit cards.  Or - take a decoy wallet.  Don't take your cell phone - they will steal it and reprogram it to the Mexican system.

Right now TJ and baja is the most dangerous it's ever been for gringo guys.  Jessica and I live 20 min from the border and don't even go down anymore unless it's absolutely necessary.

But if you insist...

Clubs:
Mikes on Revolution at 6th

Terraza around the corner on 6th - my dentist is conveniently locted about a block away...

Noa Noa - Martinez St at 1st - in the "Coahulia" (red light zone).

El Ranchero - a gay bar in the square (who name slipped my mind) between Revolution/Consititution at 1st st.

And remember - the money you save in TJ you can spend on penicillin later on...

Have fun, don't drink the water, and don't bend over in front of any donkeys...

Giggle,
TS Jamie :-)

I would never carry plastic around with me in TJ. Too many ATM scams down through out their history. It's as old as the wind. I would carry cash only.

You said you were strangled. These guys in TJ have always used the same style of attack. They travel in small packs and take down the victim with a headlock. Headlocks are big in TJ. Anyone who goes to TJ should know how to get out of a headlock. Check YouTube for a how-to video, though I'm not sure if they have one. Their database is huge, so you never know.

Your info is slightly off Jamie. Noa-Noa is no more. It's a regular local bar and has been for almost 2 years now.

Anyway, for guys that want a taste of Mexican TS try Wisdom Escorts. Do a google search and you'll find them. An American couple owns the agency. They have one escort on staff (Veronica). Her rates as of today are $75/hour. The agency will pick you up at the border and take to their big home in Playas de Tijuana. Veronica is great and can keep it going one hour easy. I'm thinking about doing 2 hours with her soon. Also Veronica does a threesome with an older provider there (Gloria). Gloria is 45 but is a little sex box. I haven’t tried them but the price was $150/hour
