I've been to Brazil several times and I don't think that it is anymore dangerous than any other big city (except they speak Portugese so it's even harder to pick up key words). I do know people who have been "rolled", but they were drunk and stupid walking out of a disco at 2am and decided to walk instead of taking a cab.....that's not smart whether you are in Mexico City or NYC or LA.

I didn't say I was robbed; I said that I was worried about getting robbed on the way to my hotel. I flew down in business class and the passenger next to me told me that I shouldn't have reserved a limo from the hotel, because many of his colleagues have been robbed while waiting in traffic. I was worried about getting robbed, so I put all of my luggage, computer bag, jacket in the trunk before we left the airport. I changed into a t-shirt, and a Brazil hat, and sat in the front seat of the limo. Their trick, according to the guy who sat next to me on the flight, and reinforced by the limo driver who said that he had been robbed 7 times in the last six months, is that it happens when you are stuck in traffic on the highway. Two guys pull on a motorbike up and stick a gun in the driver's face and ask for your wallet, computer, etc. and you really can't get away. I would take a bus from the airport to my hotel in the future. I was in Brazil for three months, and have met people who were mugged on the street. I never walked around in Rio late at night. And when I went to Centaurus my favorite Termas in Rio. I always took a cab. You really have to be street wise in both cities. I took the subways in Sao Paulo during the day time and walked about Paulista with no problems during the day and early evening. I felt that Hilda tried to take me for as much as she could get. When I asked to meet a hot chick from the website, she always found a reason why we couldn't hook up. But really pushed her R$600 service which I thought was a rip off. You may like it but I wasn't interested. I had a great time with some terrific GFE GG's for less money. BTW, I am back in the States planning another trip to Thailand. i actually did se hilda in brazil, rio to be specific. There is 1 street copacabana ave which seemed like providers stayed at as long as you don't venture too far from the beach you are ok as long as you are aware. The photos are definately not similar to real life and was not first choice but some of my top choices didn't really understand english and when speaking over the phone it made communication almost impossible. Session wasn't great, not bad wouldn't repeat. I ddin't try to do the whole guided tour, and i dind't do enough leg work before hand on research which i regret since internet access was hard to come by since i dind't have a laptop.
In rio there is a club there discoteqe about 20 usd cover, but it's understood all the girls there are working (GG) girls but it's also a club so you can dance and talk with em but it's understood that there is a point and you're not just going to waste their time.
