I was kind of surprised to see the Porn forum removed that thread. When I was active in the adult industry I used to post there on occasion and I can't ever recall a problem.
Unless I missed something, from what I read other than one GG provider who apparently has a issue with TS's I didn't see anything that was out of line. I thought it was a valid discussion. I wish now that I had cross posted my comments, as they are gone now, so my time was wasted in trying to educate and provide a moderate viewpoint.
That said, this is the first time I can recall a situation where a TS related thread was deleted on any forum, unless there was a blatant TOS violation. I've seen a couple of issues several years ago where folks in a forum needed a little education regarding transgendered people. But in each instance the discussion ended with respect and improved understanding by all.
One of the things that puts TER above other forum sites is that people can have discussions without it degenerating into a flame war. (Thanks in part to "even handed" moderators and staff.)
Personally I have never experienced anything but respect and support from TER members, providers and especially from Staff and Admin. And I like a few others here, go back to when the sites founder was the go-to guy.
Something I've said before is the majority of the girls who participate here on TER are well educated and among the best professionals in the country/world. I think it is somewhat our responsibility to keep a presence in the mainstream forums to show people who would not normally interact with transgendered people that we are no different than they are.
Something we here in the TS forum should also remember is that we have this forum because TER is one of the most open minded web contact sites on the internet. I for one appreciate all the support Admin and Staff have given to us over the years.
So while I think we need to respond to issues such as arose in the porn forum, it needs to be done respectfully and with the intent to promote ourselves and our forum as good examples of what our TER "community" is.
