Monkeypox; temporary pause in hobby?

Particularly considering that many TS on PREP are allowing bare  back.  They are protected from HIV but can be a vector for Monkeypox.

We dont know if its spread by cum or blister liquid.

Unlike clamydia or the clap there is no hiding this ailment when you catch it and no antibiotic can cure it.

Beware

Yeah, I'm pausing.  It's not as dreadful an infection as some, but it sounds pretty damn unpleasant and unsightly, so yeah, I'm pausing.

I rather expect provider ads to start including statements, "Monkeypox vaccinated".

Of course, antibiotics aren't useful against viruses (IDK, I thought that was rather well known) but this infection is usually resolved in 2-4 weeks, it's not chronic like herpes or some such.

Currently on hold, as well.  Inflation pricing isn't helping much, either..

I'm out on hobbying for a while.  Can you imagine getting the Pox and how you'd explain that to your wife?

I can't risk it either.

And now that the outbreak is here in LA and spreading, Goddess Ling is visiting my area.

I've wanted to see her forever..

LA County verified case count has gone from 40 to over 400 in just three weeks...probably not wise to hobby at the moment. When you factor in that pox can sideline you for up to 4 weeks and has a maximum 21 day incubation period with a known exposure (LA County is doing case surveillance) the smart move would be to wait until the dust settles on this one. Vaccine shortage should resolve in the next few weeks.

Not contagious if not showing symptoms. Like many viral ailments however, some people can have a very mild case of pox and spread it. Best to wait for increase in supply of vaccine, especially if you're born after 1972 when small pox vaccinations ended in the USA.
