Police seek woman who injected silicon UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – San Diego police are looking for a woman who was paid to inject five transgender females with silicone during a party Sunday. Two of the five people are in critical condition after they received injections in their buttocks, hips, cheeks and lips. The injections are intended to enhance features and physiques.
Homicide detectives are investigating because one of the victims is not expected to live, police said.
The woman who gave the injections at the Florida Street residence is believed to be an unlicensed medical practitioner who lives in a Los Angeles suburb, police said.
Silicone injections are illegal unless given by a licensed physician. Additionally, the silicone must be encapsulated. It can cause serious health problems if it migrates to the lungs or other organs.
Police believe other partygoers may have received silicone injections. Police are asking that people with information call (619) 531-2293.
