Definitely the Gaslamp district! I also love going to Balboa Park, La Jolla and Old Town. Hope you have fun!

A really up and coming area over the last few years is North Park and Normal Hieghts. Lots of hipsters, but some great bars and good eats without all the pretentiousness of the Gaslamp.
