The AIDS part is pretty scary.  Unprotected sex with any provider is a recipe for disaster.

I posted about this tragedy before but I guess it still has not been approved. All I can say is that I hope in death she finds the peace that eluded her in life.

WASNT SHE STILL ESCORTING ?? THE POST ARTICLE SAID SHE WAS HIV+ FOR 10 YEARS WHATS UP WITH THAT MAYBE SHE WAS DEPRESSED ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE SHE COULD HAVE INFECTED. MAKES ME RECONSIDER EVERYTHING

Thats what really concerns me. The article said that for the last 10 years she was battling HIV/AIDS yet she continued to escort up until as recent as 3 months ago that I saw an ad for her. I consider that very selfish on her part.

What a horribly sad thing.  After all she accomplished, to give up like that.  Poor girl.

Just goes to show that no one really knows what is going on in someone's life.  All you see is the good looks, "fame", money, nice cars, luxury apartment, and fancy clothes.

You don't see the battle with AIDS, the depression, the rejections and difficult social life situations.

I've never met her, talked to her or seen any of her movies or anything, but I feel saddened that one of my sisters is no longer on this earth.

I hope you have some peace now, Sister.

What a tragic end... Though I never met her...all I have ever heard were only good things about her. May her soul rest in peace....sad very sad.

That is truely awful.  What I don't understand though is that she had Aids?  ...and she did porn films and escorted?  That is crazy!  I bet there are a lot of customers of her's freaking out right now.  I have heard people in the porn biz mention that sometimes people work while they know they are infected,  but how do they do that?  Who would they work with?!?
Very scarey.  If I were in NY,  I probably would have been a client of hers because I was very attracted to her.

that's true for me too. I almost ended up seeing her on two occasions a couple of years ago. The article mentions she has had AIDS for 10 years...that's it for me. No more TS's.

As a one time customer of Susan Shah, I'm firstly saddened by this news.  I only met her once, but she was a nice person, i thought.

Secondly although I'm glad that we used a condom, I am still a little worried by the suggestion that she was HIV +ve.  Any thoughts anyone?

Any thoughts?  Get tested.......if nothing else for your own peace-of-mind......

I was going to reply when I first saw this...but figured I'd get bashed. I two am concerned, Susan was here in LA about a year or two ago escorting....we need to be careful guys (and girls) you really never do know!

yeah,, well everyone is saying what a tragedy it is to lose her,, BUT,,, if she was escorting for 10 years while AIDS infected then she did us all a favor,
how many innocent people has she infected???
is that right,, no it  isnt,,
i for one have seen many ts providers but have never been with her,,
i suggest that everone who has seen her please run out and get tested

I agree with robbiec.  Go get tested.  NY city is a small world, particularly with TS providers.  Chances are that the same people that have been with Susan have been with a TS provider that you have seen.

I have had time to think about Susan and although I never had a session with her I met her when I was having a session with a well known TS PS and she was very nice and pleasant to speak to. So her death does sadden me because even though we ALL take risks in life no one deserves such a horrible disease or any other horrible disease for that matter. Having said this I do feel that it was wrong for her to put her clients at risk and it shows that she was irresponsible and selfish. I for one am glad that I never had a session with her but remember that TS's know each other and sometimes engage in sex with each other so not having a session with her does not necessarily count one out of the equation. I had my doctor test me today and will find out the results Friday. I am sure I'm OK but I would rather be sure so as to not place anyone else in danger. We should all remember to play safe and DO NOT let the little head do the thinking for us. We have to be smart and careful so we can continue to play in this great hobby of ours.

This all leads me to the conclusion that - just like in the porn industry - they should show us a recent AIDS test result before we put the donation down on the table...Susan had AIDS for 10 years...10 years...how many hobbyists must have seen her in that period? 300? 400? 500?....this is bad bad bad news...

Most of what follows is obvious, but I'll say it anyway: In this "hobby" individuals must always weigh the risks. A recent test is better than no test -- but still no guarantee. Condoms are better than no condoms, looking closely is better than the lights off, clean is better than dirty, knowing at least SOME of the girl's history is better than knowing nothing -- but still you take a chance.  There's just no way to be sure -- of anything! -- anymore. Play as safely as you can, be as smart as you can. I think we also have to take the scary step to understand what a working girl must face when she tests positive -- she was already probably struggling to get by and now she can't work? How will she pay for the meds? Who will care for her? Everytime I read about a girl who seems to "disappear" for a year or so and then "reappear" buzzers go off in my head. Was that her soul-searching period? Was that a flare-up? I don't know. I try to use good judgment and all I can do is recommend everyone do the same. Since Susan's profile is still up, you might want to go there and look at who's seen her and who've they seen since and what did they do together, etc. Before they take it down.  In the old days these threads would be about who got busted, whose marriage got ruined, car got impounded, career got threatened. Those really were the good old days...

"Since Susan's profile is still up, you might want to go there and look at who's seen her and who've they seen since and what did they do together, etc. Before they take it down."

I think I need to hire a geneologist to spreadsheet this one.

That might be the way things will have to be done.  Just make sure you bring in YOUR recent aids test results too.  I don't want to catch anything any more than you do.
