Two questions I am very curious about:
1- It seems to me based on ads on Eros and here that a disproportionate percentage of TS providers are latina and black. Do you concur/
2- Why do you think that is?

Think about it. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude Afro-American and Latino to Latina MTF trans gender is because of cultural definition as well as nature (dna) and nuture/socialogical effect on dna.  Bless them, do not judge them any more than you would want to be judged for say having ALS, MS, Schizophrenia,etc. etc.

WARNING: I am not a math major nor scientist in any way shape or form! But, this post did make me curious about the demographics of our SF area TS providers (Visitors not included). Latinas are by far the largest percentage at approx. 52% of the ads, which is remarkable because according to the 2000 US Census Hispanics (men & women) only comprise 14% of the entire SF population. There wasn't a single ad for an African American/Black. The next largest group of TS providers were the Caucasians at approx.32%. Caucasian = 49% of the general population. Followed by the Asians with 16% of the TS ads/30% of the SF population are of Asian decent. So what is it with these exotic Latinas?

Excellent. Unlike dr.rick, this is not about judging, it is about trying to understand the disprortionate number of non-whies. Look at other cities and you will get similar results, only a higher percentage of blacks. The question is why, and it is a serious and legitimate question for social research.

There is no judging here. It's a fair question. look at any city on eros under TV/TS and you will see that the percentage of latina and black TS is much higher than the percentage of hispanics and blacks in the population in general. The question is why? this is not a matter of judging at all.

It's like watching a rerun.  When I see posters write"I'm not gay, but...", or "I'm straight and not interested in a T-girls penis..."

Where do you want to start?  There is a higher unemployment rate in the non-white population.  There is descrimination that extends to employment against transgendered.  Some are probably not getting support from their families.  Many TS escorts of Latin descent are undocumented(many unaccounted for in the census figures), another hurdle in the way of employment.  These are obvious reasons.  There are probably a ton of other reasons out there.

I once heard that the curtural stigma of being a homosexual in the latin community made it more acceptable to be a TS. Also I read an article that also stated that TS very merely men who were sex addicts and transformed themselves to satisfy their insasable desires. I perfer to think there are more latinas because of socioeconomic reasons also that it is a genetic based phenom. I also think not all TS hobbiest are gay even by sexual.

I love to mix things up. All I know about the clients to these ladies is their aliases. My name in The Review is allenp and that does not tell you anything. I would like to know the race of the clients. Are the clients young, old, middle class, single, ect... I think the TS Ladies know better who they are than the clients do. They have made a decision to take a certain path in life while clients still debate if they are gay or not. I guess we have a lot of questions about the ladies, but I think we have a lot of questions about ourselfs as well.

Excellent point about Eros. If you look at the LA section, one could deduce that there aren't many Asian TS's, but if you go out at night, you'll find that's not the case. If you open the LA Express, you'll find a different demographic breakdown as well. The more appropriate question might be "Why do more Latino TS's choose Eros?" Is Eros even the best investment for a provider? Do other ads provide for a greater ROI?

7)not sure what race=7 .
Expect an error margin of 3 to 5 percent.
I did see 2 African American ads in San Fran instead of 0 , not that it matters.
Not sure what good this little research is but it was something to do when I WAS BORED! Other than that,I have no opinions why the numbers are higher as you say. I do know I am partial to Latinas. I would try more whites and blacks if there was more quality providers in Houston. Unfortunately the baseball bats here are limited in size or functionality. I did date a black girl not long ago that has a nice sized bat but she wouldnt hit the home run. She preferred to bunt with it. What a waste of a nice sized bat! Funny how ones brain shut off as soon as we hears something that we disagree with. I have heard some pretty lame things here and wonder why dialogue is so threatening.

Has become a lengthy and interesting thread.  But I still say Hispanic, Afro, Asian, Caucasian TS's are in complete opposition to their population porportion in the U.S.  It's probably puralistic since TS's are in every culture in this world; but in so many culture/countries (think Islamic for example) they are in the closet, or they are dead.
