I was disappointed to find "Le Bare" instead of Peanuts when I pulled up in the limo Friday night. The famous neon 7969 was turned off and replaced with as cheap-ass sign for the "ultimate gentlemans club" (ha!). Just what L.A. needed, another tacky strip joint. So what's up L.A. natives?

According to Peanut's voice message 323 654 0280 Le Bare is the early show. It sounds like a gay strip show. Illusions II, the transgendered caberet, is still on the schedule on Mondays and Fridays from 11 until 2 on

It's still there, Primer, though compressed and much watered down with that gentleman's club sharing the same site imo.

Prime and all other Peanuts fans.  Peanuts is still active Monday's and Friday's.  Le Bare is a male strip show for bachelorette parties and the gg's.  Le Bare is using the far back room at 7969.  I agree with Piqued - Peanuts, imo, has lost it's vibe / aura.  I was there last week and the crowd is now definately more mixed and not just tg's and admirers "like the old days".  The girls seem to arrive later than usual and definately not as many as in years past.

So what's left in LA for the TS scene since the Lodge closed?

Seems like the only place left in SoCal for TS's and admirers to really hang out and chat is the SRO in San Diego(conveniently located 5 minutes from my house...[giggle]) and a couple of OC latin clubs.

If anyone has current info please post it, I'm sure lot's of guys would appreciate it.

Best,
TS Jamie

I think this is the bar Jamie wrote about. Great web site. I might need to take a "stroll" over there sometime in the near future! (See Link)

I was just reading XReys comments and remembered that I didnt see any of LA's beautiful t-lovelies Friday night. Not one! I pulled up at 11:15, did a double-take at the trashy LeBare sign, and circled a couple times. Still not a woman to be seen in front of 7969, so I went over to Trader Vics for a Scorpion Bowl. Surely one or two hotties would be hanging out when I returned, but that wasnt the case at all. By then it was close to 1am and I made my way over to Yukon Mining = nobody there either, it was deserted! Well not completely, but the 8 people inside were all straight couples seemingly transported from 1961. Back out onto SM Blvd, past 7969, still nothing! It was weird. Gay strip joint in place of one of my favorite clubs, Ozzie & Harriet (instead of ravenous TS lovelies) eating pancakes at Yukon, and the empty boulevard. Depressing. I uncorked a bottle of Moet, popped in a Lou Reed tape, and had Jeeves drive me to Hermosa where there's always some nightlife to be found.

Hey that was a good idea to post the SRO link, I forgot they have one.  To answer the other gent's quesiton.

It's mostly only Fri and Sat nights. Saturdays there's a good crowd.  Fridays can be anywhere from 1/2 dozen to packed.  Weekdays it's a neighborhood gay bar.  The occasional t-girl or CD will drop in but it's hit or miss.

What I love about the SRO is it's the kind of place where someone will come in with a stack of pizzas and treat the bar to dinner.

We try to get by around 11 pm if we're in town and free (oh sorry - I meant "available" we're never free...) say "hi" if you see us.

Luv,
Jamie

To be fair, the Yukon is always a ghost town until the clubs close.

Usually the people start showing up between 2 - 2:30 am.

TS Star is right regarding the time.  I drove by after the club to grab a bite ;) and hang out and it was crowded.  I decided not to stay because of the police presence in the parking lot.  What is the deal with the sheriff's hanging out in the parking lot?

The presence of a local sherriff cruiser in the Yukon parking lot upon my past few visits there has concerned me as well.

I don't recall the presence of these Sherriff vehicles prior to mid-2006.  I'm curious to know why the cops have are always there.
