A friend of mine went on a tour of Europe last summer and visited some working girls while there.  His wife tested positive for HIV a month ago as her blood was tested in prep for surgery, and my buddy confided in me that he may have contracted the virus during his trip.  Apparently he had travelled abroad specifically to cheat on his wife with a t-girl, and has to my knowledge never engaged in this hobby locally.  However, this situation has scared me pretty stiff.  I test regularly, and I wonder, does everyone else on this board do the same?  Also, if one of you guys tested positive, would you post that info so that we could check our hobby-histories with yours?

I assume that most of us at least practice safe intercourse if not completely covering up all the time, but still, its pretty horrifying to imagine the potential damage one infected individual could inflict on our hobbyists' circle.  The thought of this alone is enough to make me want to retire.

I'v been trying to advise on  this  matter but still there was  no  positive  response ! HIV infection is  growing all over the  world . i  talked about 2 girls advertising in  eros SD (one is  gone already maybe got scared and decided to remove her ficticious ad., there was another one who died of AIDS in San Diego )but there still one  left!  who are the "lucky ones" having a  good time  with this provider?... probably  some TER members ... so far she haven't been reviewed here., but she is  there! is  she HIV positive ? thats for sure., it  is  very sad to  hear about this guy's wife innocent people are dying of this  horrible  disease. have any of  you  ever wonder how  many t-girls could be infected and active (working as escorts) they do  travel all  over the states, we see pretty faces nice  bodies and  dream of  their functional cocks but we  never  think  about the  consecuenses and risks involved in seeing these Beautiful girls, let's be  careful here and  think with the head on  our shoulders not the  one between our legs.

I am assuming that he did go bareback.  Condoms are effective in preventing HIV transmission until they break, and I take care to use them properly whenever I do it too.  Still, you can never be sure.  I've slept with a lot of women, and the fact that I've been with a few t-girl escorts puts me in a high risk category for contracting HIV.  You had better get a test once in a while just to be absolutely sure.

I don't want to sound as if I'm minimizing the risks involved in seeing Tgirl escorts, but I do question the logic when the assumption is made that Tgirls are a high risk group.

Are there any facts that prove this, or is it just assumed as a given because Tgirls have been placed in the high risk "gay" category by social service agencies?

It seems entirely possible to me that Tgirls could actually fall into a lower risk category, seeing that most of their clients are straight men who have never participated in the high risk, gay life style.

Does anyone have the facts regarding this?  I wonder if there are any real answers to be had, given that Tgirls exist mostly outside the mainstream of the social totem pole?  What I mean is that they are mostly off the grid, and even if a social scientist were interested, it would be difficult to uncover the cold, hard facts.

Your position on this matter makes a great deal of sense, and the site you linked to help ease some of my concerns.  However, I believe that any alleviated risk involved in seeing a t-girl compared to a genetic girl would be due to the higher proportion of men that visit each girl.  There are a lot of a tranny-chasers out there, but only a handful of t-girls to satisfy us all.  It's easy to imagine that any possibility of exposure to HIV as experienced by a GG prostitute, either by drug use or infected bisexual men, is increased by several times in t-girl working girls.

The friend to whom I referred in my first post contracted HIV as a result of his visit to a second world country - our homeland of Armenia.  53% of all HIV cases in this country are a result of an encounter with a prostitute - more of a threat than needle use and homosexuality combined.  In fact, the rate of HIV infection among prostitutes in Armenia is greater than and other on the continent and in the west.  Also, if you know anything about Armenian culture, you know the near impossibility of finding a t-girl of this descent in the US, much less in our country of origin.  Gender confusion is simply not tolerated in the traditional Armenian family system.  Considering our small global population, the majority of which live in Armenia below the poverty line,  the conditions to transform oneself from one gender to another are rare to exist, to say the least.  It is amazing that he was able to find a t-girl, and in fact experience his first such encounter in Armenia, and thoroughly unfortunate that he contracted HIV through his experience.  Still, considering the facts, I can't imagine that the probability of infection through his actions prior to leaving on his trip was anything less than 100%.

However, prostitution

Thanks for the link Bracbra (although I do prefer pictures.) I think research and knowledge are important when you venture out into this lifestyle. I play safe (relatively low risk behaviors) and get tested once every six months. I am more concerned about their drug use than their occupation. I know that a provider that views her work as a profession usually is very careful. A provider who also uses intravenous drugs has always been a red flag to me. I will stop seeing a gurl if I suspect drug use.

Hey Pewter....which post were you refering to?
