Thank You for taking the time to explain this to. The under educated people who assumed it was just about wham Bam and Peace out till next time.

After reading a few recent threads I think maybe it's time once again for an educational post, said a little differently this time.  :-)

I think a lot of gentlemen get confused with the difference between a prostitute and an escort.  With the advent of the internet and cell phones the line has blurred.

It used to be easy to tell the difference through price alone.  If you were paying $20 you knew you were with a prostitute, and if you paid $200 she was an escort.  Or if you met her on a street corner you knew she was a prostitute, and if you called her newspaper ad and she came to your room, she was an escort.  (Hence the term "call girl.")  LOL

So much for the simpler times - now clarifications for 2010.

A prostitute is after one thing - your money - as fast and as much as can be removed from your possession, by any means necessary. A prostitute is someone you see while keeping your money in your sock, keeping your socks on, and keeping your back to a wall.

As a means to an end a prostitute dangles sex as the bait. But sex is not what she is looking for.  Sometimes she has to actually "put out" a little to get your money, but it will be short, impersonal, and reluctant.  Her goal is to get you in and out as quick as possible.  If you want more than one shot, you need to feed the meter again.

Sadly the majority of TS escorts seem to be prostitutes.  I'm sorry for you guys, because after you are treated poorly so often you come to the conclusion that all TS's are only after your money, when there are a number of really great girls out there who enjoy meeting new people and having fun with what they do.

An escort - or a world class "courtesan," is totally different.  You are not paying an escort for sex.  You are paying for her time and companionship for a pre-determined period.  You are paying to be pampered.  You are paying to relax in safety.  You are paying for discretion.  You are paying for intelligent conversation, and maybe a dinner companion.  You are paying with the assumption that you will not be going home alone. LOL

Sex is often in the equation, but it is not a guaranty. Nor is sex always desired.  I've had guys just want to meet a "real" TS for dinner and learn about us.  I've had guys pay me to go to the zoo, or to just hang out at our place and use our jacuzzi and play pool with our friends.

And you are paying her to leave afterward.  :-)

You are (usually) paying an escort/courtesan for a GFE "girlfriend experience."  What that means to me is a date with an escort should be like a date with any other girl.  Of course not all such dates are going to include going out to dinner and a movie, but even if it's just a private time in a motel room it should "feel" like a date.

Now gentlemen, what you have to understand is that it's not always easy for a girl to reach the level of being a true world class courtesan.  An escort first and foremost must be an actress.  It's her "job" to ensure you have a great time - even if she isn't.  It's her job to make you feel like you are the greatest guy in the world - even if it's not true.  It is her job to make you forget that she is an escort, to leave you with the feeling of having had a fantastic time with a girlfriend.  It is her job to make your time together so good that money isn't even a factor.

Ahh, now we come back to the money.  Price is no longer a determining factor.  You can pay $400 and get a street level prostitute.  Or you can pay $400 and have a fabulous time with a world class courtesan.

How can you tell the difference?  You can't. The only way is via reviews, word of mouth, forums, and personal contact with the girl.  But you can generally expect that your chances will be better with a well reviewed, well educated, well known girl.  And the rule that you get what you pay for is still true to some extent, in that a quality date doesn't come cheap.

OK - now get out there and go have some fun!

Giggles,
TS Jamie :-)

After a visit to China I am in India and here it's the last day of the year as I pen this post. So happy new year to you in advance.

Yes Jamie you are right...I have met great escorts and some ladies who may be classified as "proscorts" (Falling between a prostitute and escort)

A proscort is someone who advertises on Eros, charges top rates, has a clean incall, has squeaky clean herself and has some mixed reviews on TER.

She may not rush you out of the door, but is not into the session.

But to take the discussion further, I have noticed that mature escorts are much better younger ladies. They young ones look great, but mature ones can sense your needs and fullfill them.

I love to take it slow and tender and met this great mature lady in Florida. When she came to my hotel we kissed and her kiss was somewhere between soft and aggresive. After the first kiss, I kissed her again gently and for a longer time. She understood what I liked and not a word was said.

Her touches after that were oh so gentle moving slowly and teasingly to the erotic zones. I did the same and after we were done, we both said to each other I loved your touch.

And I have noticed that almost all of the mature ladies I meet are better than the younger ones.

Have you noticed the same with mature guys?

Thank You for taking the time to explain this to. The under educated people who assumed it was just about wham Bam and Peace out till next time.

Jamie, I swear, you are so damned sexy when you write.  Just love reading your stuff!

And, yes, you are right-on, babe.  I also think there should be a difference in names for the clients.  Those that just want a prostitute should be called, what?  Johns?  Those that want an escort should be called?  O.k., I'm drawing a blank--wealthy?  Ha! :)

No, seriously, I think there's really a big difference among clients as well.  Albeit, for some, there are economic pressures that prevent or limit access to an escort.  But, others, seem perfectly happy to give x-amount of roses for a blow-and-go.

As you wrote, the Internet has truly blurred this line even on malls like EROS.  I think it was Rachel a while back wrote that the Internet gave the streetwalkers the opportunity to get off the streets (but that they brought their street mentality with them).

It's a terrible shame that EROS stopped verifying the photos.  And, I think Rachel hit it again when she wrote that EROS should provide verification for those girls who want it---AND mark the ad with a Photo Verification Seal.

I really like that you took the time to write this.  Yours is one post I just bookmarked! :)

I think that the proper term for those gentlemen who appreciate the courtesan level of artist would be "patron" -- as in, patron of the arts.

Most, if not all, of the great artists of the Renaissance were supported by their patrons, which gave them the time and wherewithal to produce works of art that have endured.

I believe that such patronage results in a similar result -- a work of art that leaves us with lasting and endearing memories.

If you pay a nickle or $5,000.00 for sex she is a prostitute.  You put perfume on a pig and it still is a pig.

I don't think the girls I see are pigs.  They are beautiful, wonderful ladies, and they deserve better respect.

If I understand you correctly, you are infering, anyone who is married their spouse is a prostitute?  Because as the old saying goes what's yours is hers and what's hers is hers. Your paycheck is hers, so you are paying her for sex!!!

Jamie,

What a GREAT post! Now I need to find me some escorts, because THAT is what I am looking for! LOL

Seriously, you summed it up very nicely.

Doc

Just saying, some great providers I've had the pleasure of meeting had a real need for a maid service. I've seen some pretty great providers, (thanks very much ladies) but have also been in some pretty, (read pretty nasty), apartment messes while I was at it.
Just saying, ladies, no offense. I don't mind making our date an outcall to a nice hotel, but if you say incall only, it should be a nice incall. Seriously, If you were coming over to my place, it would be cleaned up.

Lets call this what it is....a legality.  By definitions both words..prostitute and escort...have VERY different meanings.  Surely we engage the company of escorts knowing legally that were paying for time but,.....you all know what this "but" is and certainly i don't need to say it.
So i'll offer this...When was the last time you paid someone to simply escort you somewhere?  Hang on your arm at a wedding or party...or maybe have as a dinner guest, and then said escort went on home and no further festivities were pursued?  According to any of these posts or reviews here...not one.
Of course when we hear the word escort it sounds more, i don't know, professional, maybe.  We would like to think we would be afforded a better service.  It would be easy enough to read through a handful of reviews here and see that simply is not the case.  End result...its a title.  A title that affords providers they can provide and hobbyists the luxury to employ.
The real distinction lies with the provider...not the title.

Sorry I have paid people to be my escort and it is not an uncommon practice and it was not sexual. So u r wrong.
In the legal sense it was compensation for a services rendered. Simple, a contract for escorting me on a date so i could enjoy dinner,a movie or other event with a woman instead of being alone at said event. In exchange i provided compensation, sometimes monetary sometimes it was an exchange of services.
Now when the doctor down the street sets up his new 22 y.o. "girlfriend" in an apt, a down payment on a car or whatever in exchange for sexual services that is a contract for prostituition.this is what is wrong with the legal system. Many Doctors, lawyers, judges, politicians, corrupt the justice system by legitimizing their personal prostituition while using others as scapegoats.
I actually paid an escort purely for conversation & advice and another time we had sex with no money involved. Technically there is nothing illegal going on.
Sometimes we talk, sometimes we make love. sometimes she needs money, sometimes she doesnt.
How is that not a girlfriend? Nothing is expected it is all spontaneous...
