There's an interesting article in today's Washington Post (sorry, registration required, try bugmenot.com) on a transgender (MtF) in India who is getting her own tv show.  She went to college in the US and described America as being "too homophobic".  Somewhat depressing, but I'm not very surprised.

"Rose, who is 28 and uses only her first name, said that she has kept her identity secret from her neighbors for three years. She fears they would jeer at her parents if they knew.
She has reason to be concerned. The transgender community in this country has long been discriminated against, a people to be lampooned in movies. Transgender Indians are so oppressed that many earn a living only by making themselves a nuisance; they show up at weddings or shops, clapping their hands and demanding money from people who are all too eager to shoo them away."
I am sorry but it is not that bad here in the US

US is way better for transgender girls than India. I think Lousiana is the wrong state for special girls.

In India special girls are subject to ridicule. People believe that any association with transgender girls can bring bad luck. Finally they say if you see the gentials of a transgender girl your are cursed for life. It is sick attitude for a land that created tantra and kamasutra.

I feel that the best place for transgender girls is Europe, followed by the US. India is bad and muslim countries are the worst.
