TER 86's the MODS

Apparently TER decided to get rid of volunteer Mods so the three of us are no longer wanted.  Good luck to everyone who participated. It was fun but everything must come to an end.  Take Care and I would like to thank my two compadres for all of their help.

Makes me glad I'm no longer a paid member, to be honest, because I'm having a hard time seeing how these changes increase the user experience here. Of course, the people who are bitching the loudest about them are the ones in the forum that's the worst-behaved one on TER, so maybe it should be taken with a grain of salt.

...I think all of us who post did as well. Hopefully we'll still have "it"!

Rather than have forum-specific moderators that are actively involved in their communities (i.e. LATSDog and the others who actually participate in the hobby with T-girls), we're going to have a single set of "global moderators" of sorts, who will police the entire board, every single forum, with no regard to the specifics and eccentricities of a particular forum. That, to me, spells disaster, especially for forums such as this one that are generally well-behaved. Either these new "global moderators" are going to act all ham-fisted and crack down indiscriminately, or they're going to be spending so much time on the cesspool forums (i.e. General Discussion) that they won't have the time or resources to keep up with the other forums, allowing THEM to turn into cesspools from lack of oversight. No matter which way you slice it, I see this as a lose-lose situation and a diminishing of the TER experience overall.

Dog.... you've been an awesome help since I first joined 6 years ago.  Your views and assistance will be sorely missed.

Having a mod(s) who are active in the subject matter may make no difference, or a lot. I offered to help because I have found this a useful board and wanted to help pay back. Thanks to the Dog, think he is going to be missed around here. Thanks to Tranedrvr, all the ladies who participate, and all the gents who ad working links to their 411's. Guess the next time you will hear from me is when I have a really great date and manage to get a review approved again. It's been a long time.

Well, all good things must come to an end.  I do have to admit that my provider feedback was more valid several years ago but peeps came back because they had fun and enjoyed being part of the community.  I have no idea of the future plans of TER but my feeling is these boards will dry up or move to another place.

It appears not only the TS board is no longer moderated by peeps like me but all of them.  When I discovered the change, and not knowing if it was just our board, my first thought was..."I gave Eros to hard of a time and maybe this is a strategic partner for them"  I sooon realized that was not accurate...I'm not sure why they have made these decisions....This is a business for the peeps who decided so I'm very eager to understand the benefit?  A bunch of reviews with no discusion behind it and/or discussion moderated by someone who is not into TS fun would be boring.

My feeling is they made the wrong decison and will want to re-instate what they killed. If I come back, I'll be signing a W4 prior to becoming a MOD again.

P.S.  I do plan to check in at times but my participation will never be in the same capacity as it was when being a MOD.  I'm anxious to understand how TER plans to keep things interesting on our once fun and comfy board......

I'm good with this.

Seems to me, that on several occasions, the mods, or rather, one mod in particular, was one of the bigger trolls and provocateurs on this board.

After a while, the increasingly snippy responses to search the reviews and search on Google, were more about immoderately venting frustration than "moderating" the group.

Seems whenever something is "changed" for our "own good", here, at worker, or wherever....there is a Lawyer somewhere, lurking...
It's an unfortunate change to an active, entertaining, informative board......

A troubling sign of things to come, because these messages didn't even come close to the bullshit nonsense that runs rampant in General Discussion. It really is looking more and more like this forum is destined to die if this is what we can expect from the New Regime(tm) from now on.
