Though sometimes that's the best place to stay...
Don't do like on my first outcall to a hotel near Disneyland. I went waltzing in, in a mini and knee boots - each step echoing off the walls of the marble lobby screaming "look at the hooker."
So pick soft sole shoes.
I prefer higher end business hotels myself. Though rates are going through the roof. We usually get a suite, I like having a living area to relax in. You want a place with plenty of traffic, so your guests will blend in. And dress accordingly.
And don't have your laptop open to your web site home page like I used to do. I was having trouble connecting to a hotels wireless. So dumb ass here took my laptop down to the front desk where the clerk "fixed it" and what pops right up inhis face but... "TS Jamie and Jessica Transsexual Escorts!" Ooops,

Yes, some of this is known to me.. Like dress business casual, maybe have a laptop case with a "tradeshow" logo stamped on it.. Have baggage check tags on luggage even when local.. Stay far from home.. (like you are in this area for convenience to your Consulting Business, which I have), use of a real company name (got that to)..
Yeap and I have done the "walk" through on an outcall once.. Did not even make the bar meet before I was stopped and ask 'if I knew someone'.. NEVER Dress overly hot...Red flags will surly wave..
