I am a new guy to the TS world.   What are the best things to do in advance to make top and bottom experience both safe and enjoyable.  In an earlier msg a provider said we clients did not know how much preparation went to being a bottom

Do a quick search of the word "preparation" on this board and you'll get a bunch of threads on the topic.  There's an especially good one from about 5 years ago.  For a great experience for both, it's best if the bottom is well "prepared", and that can take some time!
