There was a genuine, scholarly study on the distribution of transgender adults in the US, published by the Williams Institute this past summer. I linked it below.
It's only state-by-state, so I suppose a county-by-county, or even zip code-by-zip code analysis is the next step!
Interesting data. While there is some variation from state to state, the percentage is actually surprisingly consistent. I was most surprised to see some of the states with the highest percentages.... Hawaii is interesting. I know some other Polynesian islands have a history of acceptance towards transgendered people, I wonder if that plays into the percentage at all..? Thanks for posting it, but it probably could've been its own post.
