I know I'll probably ruffle a few feathers in here with this post,
nor do I portend to be the king of prose by any measure, but some of you in here really need to brush up on your writing, grammar, and punctuation skills. It's atrocious to say the least. The most egregious errors and mistakes in my opinion in here are the following:

* The use of periods and ellipses (Learn their function, and never use more than three.Be judicious in the use of them).

* The use of a dash. This is possibly the easiest to grasp the use of.

* I know it's become de rigueur to not capitalize in the cyber world, but there are times when it is essential that one do it right.Learn it!

"There","Their", and "They're". Learn the difference!:)

I've provided a few links which will help you immensely (They've certainly helped me). My favorite being the one linked. Do some exercises. A few exercises will do wonders for your writing, and thus confidence in your future communicating on-line. When not chasing beautiful TS women through cyberspace, copy and paste the following, and engage in a few of their exercises:

http://englishplus.com/grammar/punccont.htm

http://webster.commnet.edu/grammar/index.htm

...If grammar websites aren't your thing, then read any of TS Star's postings. She's a pleasure to read.:)

Gee I did not know we were being graded on our spelling skills and punctuation.

Hey I've got an other idea for you. If you don't like to read postings with poor spelling and punctuation and TS Star's are such a pleasure to read, then maybe you should stick with only her postings until TER gets spell check.

Please.  The majority of us are a bunch of horndog freaky dudes that get our jollies from looking at and/or servicing other horndog freaky  dudes that happen to have fake tits and look good in lingerie.  Do you really think the grammatical aspects of our posts are that big a deal? Gimme a break - some of us go for T Girls because they lack the main thing that GG girls have and maybe that transcends into our writing as well...no periods!

One of the definitions for "portend(v)" is to indicate or suggest. Thus, my original posting utilizing the term is correct as far as I can see. i.e, "I didn't mean to SUGGEST that my prose is always correct yada, yada, yada. ..."

As far as ellipses go, my understanding (backed up by one of the sites I posted I believe) is that four is okay when ending a sentence if one utilizes a break twixt the first and second one.

For what it's worth, I've never had good grades in English class.  To this day I don't know if I have a verb, noun, pronoun or subject in my sentences.  I hated wrting because I was afraid of looking stupid.  I was horrible at spelling and I am still paranoid about it.

But then, I eventually found a teacher that said the whole idea of writing is just being able to communicate with people.  If people can understand what you are trying to say, then that's the most important thing.

I have stopped trying to figure out the mechanical things of a sentence and just concentrate on writing like I would if I was talking to someone in person.  I'm SURE I make plenty of grammer, spelling and punctuation errors, but as long as people can understand what I am trying to say, then that's the most important thing to me.

Peace & Love

Hound,

I agree. In the big scheme of things, yeah, you're right, it is much ado about nothing. But if you'd take the time to read back, say, some two weeks or so, you'd see what compelled me to post such a topic. One was written in a form of hieroglyphics ... It is not my intent to offend anyone, but I'd like to make sense of what it is someone is trying to convey. They have much to offer those of us captivated by beautiful TS women and it would be a shame to miss out on what they are saying due to some syntactical, grammar, or punctuation error.

... Is that really too much to ask for ?

Joeymaxim,

Thanks for being a good sport by not taking this topic the wrong way as some apparently have. My post wasn't meant to be a broad indictment of the whole board, or for that matter most on this board, but it was something I felt had to be said given that there are a couple in here that have a lot to offer, and yet, are impossible to read.
Unless there is a Norman Mailer amongst us, everyone in here, including myself, could use sites such as those I originally posted to brush up on their writing skills.

Yes, after going over it once more, yes, I did find about four or five syntactical ambiguities/inconsistencies in it. I did state in that original post that I am not perfect myself, didn't I ? I suppose I deserve that for playing the anal smartass. It simply boomeranged back and conked me.:)
Despite the occasional errors in my writing, I believe my posts are legible and understandable to most of those in here. I can't make that statement about a couple of others in here, though.;)

Maybe you should attempt to read posts with a bit more focus
before you respond to them. I qualified my skills, or lack there of them, in my original post by stating that I'm not always in tip-top form, and I also mentioned that my links didn't apply to the majority in here so what's your problem ? Do you enjoy reading posts which are impossible to decipher and therefore require three or four readings if not more to make sense of ? Would you like me to direct you to one post in particular which was the basis for this topic heading, or are you willing to admit to everyone in here that you've made sense of every post in here for the last month ? I'm sure I speak for others in here.

By the way, I would've utilized a comma after that "Hey".

If sarcasm was your goal, I would have utilized quotation marks around the term "wiz" to make my point a bit clearer.

I'll grant to you and everyone else in here that my writing isn't always as polished as it could and should be, but you're actually splitting hairs in this instance by referring to an old Latin "rule" which stated that a sentence should not end in a preposition. The rule really doesn't fit the English prose. Read on, please:

"What are you waiting for ?"

"You didn't tell me which floor you were on."

"Which drawer are the condoms in ?"

I will not tolerate postings I can't make heads or tails of.(Hee-hee!)

Can we talk about beautiful TSs now ? I was afraid I would ruffle a few sensitive feathers.:(

Kylie,

I'm glad people post in here also. I wish more TS women would. This place has been a wonderful source of information on the beautiful world of TS women -- a world I know relatively little about. I want to extract as much information as I can from every post which piques my curiosity in here, but I need to be able to make sense of what it is someone is attempting to say. Since we don't have the luxury in forums such as this one to actually hear what the person on the other end is saying with our ears, it is imperative that one write well. Writing is everything -- EVERYTHING! Don't you agree ?

By the way, I don't know if this says something about my writing skills, or possibly something of the type of women I seem to attract via those skills, but many -- MANY -- women I have met via online dating sites have often told me that they found my writing to be the first thing that stood out about me versus other men ... I am known to write with verve if the woman and mood is right. ;)

"Do you really think the grammatical aspects of our posts are that big a deal? Gimme a break ..."

They are if one can't read them. My original post was directed at the few in here that really need brushing up or serious help in their writing skills. Most of us in here can decipher an occasional badly written post and connect all the dots to make sense of them, but there are some I've read that are simply beyond comprehension. Since there are so few new posts in here each day, it is imperative that each make sense, wouldn't you say ?

And what empirical evidence do you have to back your claim that the majority in here are a bunch of "horndog freaky dudes"? I must have missed that poll. Whether your claim holds any water or not, what has that to do with requesting some in here brush up on their writing skills, and thus write with a bit more clarity ? Writing is the ONLY communicative vehicle we have to deliver our postings in here after all, isn't it ?
By the way, maybe some in here are like me and don't see beautiful TS women as,"horndog freaky dudes that happen to have fake tits and look good in lingerie.", but instead see them as the beautiful women they were meant to be who just happen to have penises, huh ? They're each as unique and varied in mind and body as GGs are wouldn't you say ? You might want to service a "horndog freaky dude with fake tits that look good in lingerie", but left to my druthers, I would love to wine, dine, and massage, say, a very effeminite Sapphire (Bob's T-girls), for example, and whatever happens after that, happens. Servicing her wouldn't be a goal of mine, but if the mood is right and it happened, hey, it happened. I'm seeking one night of wonderful company and romance, with sex as a backdrop, not "Hi! Wham, bam, thank you, mam!" and so long. Hey, different strokes for different folks, right ?

" This is a case of too much time on one's hand and too little hobbying. He needs to get out more often and have a life."

I would argue that frequenting this PARTICULAR forum is a reflection or variation of an interest in hobbying. ...Wouldn't you ? It's the relatively new found interest that I have in the third sex, and thus this board, that compels yours truly to make the request that some in here work on their writing skills. I want to know all I can before I make that beautiful leap one day soon, and I'm of the belief that EVERYONE in here has something to offer, so it's incumbant upon them to work on skills that not only make their postings more legible in here, but also in everyday life. The stuff is remedial, and it would take only five minutes of one's day to get the hang of the skill they are lacking in. Is that too much to request of another ? If you had to meet in close proximity with another EVERYDAY who had body odor, would you not bring it to his/her attention ?

By the way, I HAVE a life thank you very much. There are three -- possibly four -- GGs in my life right now who I can go out with at almost any given time. I guess one could say that I'm in the process right now of feeling each out to see if there is anything there that might amount to something. I'm not the kind that jumps into a relationship first, and shortly after that when I sense it has no future, leave another with disappointment or a broken heart. It's not about me. Make sense ?

I'm so sorry my post took "so much" time out of your life for you to have to post in here.

Kylie - You may be an exception because you've had your parts exchanged.  Kinda' like replacing a dangling participle with open parentheses, like those little smiley faces, ya' know:)  I don't judge you for that, but I wouldn't date you either.  I don't agree that it is imperative that the posts on these boards make sense. I'm a middle aged man who enjoys looking at, and fantasizing about t-girls.  That doesn't make sense to me and it wouldn't make sense to anyone I know. But, this board and all the hot reviews are a form of entertainment and just like all those freakin reality shows, so what it if makes sense or not if it's enjoyed!  I think you missed that poll when you were out having yours removed. But, that's ok, I go by the assumption most readers and fans of the TS board/reviews know it ain't normal just like I do and there is something freaky about it, which, without condemnation, is what it is.  I wish had a bigger dick and less writing skills.

LMAO!!!And like I said, GET A LIFE!!! I deliberately used the >>>,,...,,`s to irk nonlifers such as yourself who can`t handle someones silly typing quirks. I can care less what people do here as long as the DIALOGUE keeps running along intelligent lines. This is after all,a discussion board designed for information about our interests.Keep it at that and stop B*&-ing about what symbols you see on the screen.OK, loser???

I have some misgivings your first post directed at me was "deliberate" given how many errors you revealed in your latest response to me.

Once again, this isn't about "typing quirks" ( by the way, learn the difference between an accent and an apostrophe, huh ?) or "symbols" as you so "eloquently" articulated. If you had bothered to read some of the posts upstream you might know why it is I bothered posting such a topic to begin with. I too am interested in intelligent dialogue, but tell me how we can get to that dialogue without an ability to write clear, concise posts that we can all understand with little effort or strain ?
As I stated before, MOST of us in here cannot only write well enough for the others here to comprehend, but are also adept enough to decipher an occasional badly written post as to what it is the other person is trying to convey. My original post was not directed at them (the majority in here). It was directed at a couple of posters that ocassionaly post in here who wouldn't know a period from the Eiffel Tower, or as in your case, an accent from an apostrophe.
Who's the "loser" again ?

You are the "loser".You have too many issues and I find it hilarious.I repeat,I CAN CARE LESS what "typing quirks" are used around here.If I understand the message then that is all I need.I don`t need to berate, harrass,or attempt to embarrass people here because it just doesn`t matter.(O.M.G.!! ALL MY WORDS ARE SPELLED CORRECTLY!!!!AND PUNCTUATION IS ACCURATE).I had to put in the original WAHH WAHHH`s aimed towards people like you because of your shallow,OBTUSE way of thinking.GET A LIFE,my friend, and quit worrying what stinkin` symbols show up in a discussion board.Life is too short and too fun to sweat over such B.S. I come here to gather and leave INFORMATION,not to have DEBATES about people`s typing quirks.Perhaps someone (AHEMMMM *COUGH*COUGH*) "intelligent" like you needs to find such a board that deals with language, grammar, and whatnot unimportant issues.Face it,people speak and type "funny".But judgemental people such as yourself can only find fault in others and refuse to allow for humans to be humans.LET PEOPLE BE THEMSELVES!Stop worrying!!
