Nothing personal, I've just been a member for a long time, and I'd suggest that management is letting this site get less worth the cost of the price of admission.
The reason I ask is that it seems that getting useful intel here, either by reading reviews, or participating on the boards, does not seem to produce the info it used to. I don't know what TER is charging for VIP these days, but personally, I'd be a dissatisfied customer if I couldn't get a basic question like this one answered on a site like this.
Back when admin canned all the mods, there was some kind of talk about replacing them with "cruise directors". It was my take that they would be kind of like mods, helping out newbies, keeping boards interesting etc. Guess that idea has yet to be rolled out?

Hi Sancho2, long time no chat. Hope you are well. I myself feel change is good but have to agree with your comments. After reading your post, I concur that its not necessarily an issue that there are no more MODS, but one does have to assess the boards usefullness and participation levels during the time when 3 MODS hit the board throughout the day, releasing messages, making comments and suggestions to newbies, etc to the activity level now. If TER contacted me tomorrow and asked for my participation as a MOD again, I would have to say no. I am way to busy with my regular job and honestly feel that it is good to mix things up and recruit new MODS who have a fresh outlook and even a different perspective on things.
Between the 3 of us, we would average reviewing and releasing over 30 to 50 posts every day and the activity levels today are nowhere close. To your point, the newbie ? that was highlighted in your post would have been answered w/in hours from hitting the board.
I think the cruise directors are located in the UK or across the pond so that is one reason for the delay on posts and comments hitting the board, etc.
My personal opinion is that I believe most folks have moved on to other places.
Have a good week and talk to ya soon.
Dog
On a positive note, I am happy to see Ms. Marple participating on the board again.
Hey Sancho2 and Dog, still here also and agree that a newbie question would have been handled here a little quicker, as the three of us were on the top of things throughout the day, but it has gotten busy for me in my real job, so glad to see some others (Ms Marple, thank you) and such participating. Be safe everyone and have lots of fun.
