Transexual severely beaten at McDonalds

I'm posting a link to a video that's at the top of Drudge Report this afternoon. It shows a transexual being severely beaten at a McDonald's restaurant while management, customers and the videographer watch. She has a seizure at the end of the video which probably means she has brain damage. This is a hate crime. The victim is transgender and white; the perpetrators are black.  I hope the justice department goes after these monsters if the local authorities don't.

What happened was vicious and inexcusable to be sure, but there is no mention if the victim being TG in the report that you linked to. Do you have additional info?

I got it from the comments posted on various websites. She does look transgendered to me. If this is prosecuted as a hate crime it will probably be based on the transgender status of the victim. Attorney general Eric Holder has told the federal attorneys at the justice department that he does not want black on whte hate crimes to be prosecuted.

....but there seem to be several advocacy groups on it already. The Baltimore Sun has the most current updates (online) Really horrible.

The fact that the criminals are black has nothing to do with it.  There are racist, hate crime criminals in every color.  This is a terrible thing to watch but lets hope the video helps convict the backwards ass peeps who did this to her.

Our society has decided to make race an issue in law enforcement by punishing certain crimes more severely if it can be proven that the perpetrator was motivated by race hatred.

If the races were reversed in this crime, very few people would doubt that it was a hate crime. Imagine a transgendered black,  severely beaten by two white girls, while several other white people watched and did nothing, the whole thing videotaped by a white man who warned the perpetrators that they should run because the police were on the way. Then the video is posted on web site frequented predominantly by white people. (In this case the video was posted on a hip-hop website which celebrates the gangbanger/thug lifestyle). Does anyone doubt that the black community and black political activists would demand justice?

White people are expected to suffer silently while other groups demand retribution for any perceived injustice, real or imagined.

I could not watch it through either. I don't understand how people can want to hurt others regardless of their race, gender, gender choice, religion. We all belong here. I don't understand why the people at McDonalds stood around and watched?

I disagree. Race is most certainly an issue regarding this incident. If the victim is white, and all the attackers black, yeah, it's an issue. Most of all, it's an issue of ugliness and inhumanity. I personally couldn't watch more than a minute before I had to click it off. It was just too painful. There are many layered issues here not just race but gender, personal responsibilty in public, lack of compassion, absence of protection, complete failure of decency, it's amazing how much can happen in three minutes at McDonalds...

...should definitely raise hell about this one! that's how things get done these days, heavy duty media and lawyers etc. sue mcdonalds, sue the guy shooting the video, sue the perps up the ass! the msm (main stream media) are all for hate crime laws when it means prosecuting whites harassing blacks. much less sympathetic when it comes to black on white crime. lets see what they say this time. ive heard of hate crime cases involving gays and again the msm was very sympathetic. i get the impression they don't know what they think about transgender. we'll see....meanwhile, i hope those animals get what's coming to them! out in san fran there's a group called code pink, which is basically gays/tg's promoting the right to bear arms for self protection. sounds like they should form a posse and go find those monkeys doing the beating...

I find that statement racist in itself. When I hear a white person claim "reverse racism", I very quickly start whistling and walking backwards, looking for a clean exit.

The fact is everything we do is racial, not necessarily rac-ist but racial, in nature. Because our society is multi-cultural & multi-racial we have to acknowledge racial diversity and the tensions that sometimes exist. I draw the line when white people complain of reverse-discrimination and compare themselves to the bigotry black people face. Suffer silently? Please, white people don't know how to "suffer silently" we are dramatic and noisy with every new controversy. And then Oprah, the whitest black person in America, does a big show on it. Followed by Dr. Phil.

Was this incident racial and even racist? Yes. And should be addressded so. Still there's no need to defend the white race or compare this injustice to the ongoing injustice black people have faced for 400 years. That is the platform white supremacists build their propaganda on. Prosecute the criminals, address the hate, but please don't bring the issue of unfair treamtent for white folks into it.

...except her comments on reverse racism. the govt has decided that certain groups are more equal than others, squashing some individuals in their ham-handed efforts to create equality among the races. discriminating against certain racial types in order to promote anti-discrimination isn't really justice its just power politics, imho of course. anyway i join you in your outrage at this incident, and hope this victim gets the justice she deserves.

By calling me racist, you prove my point. A white person requiring equal treatment is branded racist. The biggest hate crime in America has gone on for years and no one says a word. I'm talking about black on white rape. The Department of Justice estimates that 37,000 white women are raped or sexually assaulted every year by blacks. The Department of Justice estimates the number of white on black rapes and sexual assaults per year at "statistically zero";  that means fewer than ten. I'm posting a link with the details.

was intended because my feeling is take the color of their skin out of the picture.  I realize this opened up a can of worms.  Sorry folks but my feeling is any color or person could have peformed that crime against that person.  Thats my last comment on this topic.

I am neither white nor black, but I'm seething at the incident. The poor thing, transexual or no, being battered like that and only an elderly lady coming to her aid. Shameful and disgraceful. That dude in the blue shirt was probably 3 times the size of the 2 girls combined and could have stopped them with both his hands tied behind his back. Yet, he chose to do nothing and one can't but help feel that that was down to the race of the individual being beaten.

I hope the poor thing comes out of this unharmed. Having a seizure is not necessarily indicative of brain damage unless she suffered a stroke afterwards which I hope to God she did not. Maybe she was an epileptic patient and started having a seizure in which case, she should be fine once the moment passed. I hope she takes Mcdonalds and every single individual working there that night to court and gets their ass handed to them. CC TV should insure that the two attackers won't get away as well.

God bless the poor thing

...we don't KNOW the motivation, but it was NOT a fair fight...it was a vicious ATTACK...just don't jump to conclusions or transfer your own feelings about others who different from you or a whole race of people...just pray for her speedy recovery(physically & emotionally) and hope that justice will be served...there is already so much negative energy out there...this was prime example...no need to harbor anger and resentment towards others for the action of an ignorant few...dfk, Rachel

Id just like to point out that this post might have gotten out of hand.  Most of us have very different views onthe subject of racial equality.  I think we can all agree that this is a horrible thing that has happened and no matter what the motivation was behind it, we all hope that justice is served.  I think we get to talk a look at the harsh reality facing the lovely ladies of this forum.  I for one, would like to apologize for what happened.

We can never change other peoples mind, but atleast we can modify our own behavior and act accordingly.

Just my humble opinion.
