There are several people who read this message board who are very willing to help out their fellow hobbyists.  But it gets very frustrating when the requests include minimal information or are coming from people who are too lazy to do their own homework.  Here are some suggestions to help you find what you are looking for yourself and when/how to ask for help.

1 - Familiarize yourself with the TER site by reading through the Newbie board.  There is lots of info to be learned there about how this site is organized, how it works, what the acronyms mean and what is proper etiquette when interacting with other members.

2 - Learn how to use the Review search screen.  Here are a few tips when you are having difficulty finding what you are looking for.

- Don't be TOO specific.  If you type in the provider's name, phone number, city, breast size, blood type and driver's license number, you are actually decreasing the chances of finding a match.  All of the information in the database was provided by actual human beings who may or may not have known all of the information when submitting a review.  There might also be mis-spellings in the database.  It is a bit of an art form to do a search with just the right amount of information and it often takes several attempts,  Try limiting yourself to a name, part of a phone number and maybe a city...or maybe just one of those.

- Change Exclude Bad Websites to No.  Often times the website link on a provider's profile has become out of date.  You can use other pieces of information (name, phone, e-mail) to confirm that you have found the right person even without a website link.  If you have a link, use the Report New Website function to update the database and get yourself 2 days VIP credit to boot.

- Use the last 4 digits of the phone number from an ad and/or make sure that no city is selected.  Many providers travel frequently, so even though you might know she is from a particular city, she may have reviews from another city that she has travelled thru or lived in previously.

- If you are searching for TS providers, choose Yes, PreOp in the Transexual list box near the bottom of the page to limit the search results.  You might also try Yes, PostOp too, just in case you didn't realize she has already gone under the knife or perhaps the review was classified incorrectly.

- Once you find the reviews, read them.  That is the most valuable resource that this site has to offer.  If you are not a VIP and cannot read the juicy details, pony up the $20 or submit a review to get access.  There is no doubt that you will save that much many times over by avoiding providers who are not likely to create the type of session that you are looking for.  Don't be a bum and ask on the board whether so-and-so does DFK or not just because you are too cheap or too lazy to submit a review of your own.

3 - Use the Find Message function in the Discussion Boards.  Of course, nobody has time to read ALL of the posts that appear on the board, so do a search to see what information was posted previously about your question.

4 - Once you have done your own research and still haven't found what you are looking for, post a message on the appropriate discussion board.  When asking a question about a particular provider, try to include at least the name and city where you saw her.  Is she visiting?  If so, do you know where she is from?  Even better if you can post a link to her ad/website too!  We are not looking over your shoulder while you surf the net, read newspapers/magazines and watch videos, we don't know what city you live in and we most certainly aren't mind readers.  The more clues you give, the better the chances are that someone will be able to recognize who you are asking about and return useful information.  It's also a good idea to choose a useful subject so that other members will be likely to read your post.

I'm not the moderator of this board and I don't claim to be a TER expert, but I do try to help out whenever I can.  If anyone finds this information useful, maybe we can get additional input and come up with a FAQ of sorts to be posted here on a regular basis so all new visitors to our board will find it helpful as well.

thanks, your post is helpful and thorough....being new to the board, i really did not think it through...allow me to suggest your post as a model to those of us that are still learning the ropes.
