H Town

Houston is a very very large city.  Knowing H town fairly well, I'd say there probably is not any primo location.  If it was me, I'd consider the following.  Maybe try a few locations if you are there any length of time.

1.  Gallaria Area -  West area of Houston, lots of high end night clubs, bars, shopping, etc.  There are actually some very nice extended stay hotels tucked away that would be reasonable and smack in the center of that area.  I feel this is the best because almost anyone who wanted to come to see you would not have too much of a problem driving to see you.  Many highways feed that area, it also neighbors River Oaks which is the Beverly Hills of H town, old money.

2.  Downtown?  Its been awhile since I have been to Htown but its my understanding that the once deserted downtown is now revived and has a great night life, etc.  You might snag some business men on their way home after work but thats only a guess.

Others may have more up to date recommendations as my input is from a few years back when I traveled there for work.

I'd avoid.....

Hotels by the Airport.  I feel its not the best area and also Greenspoint, which borders the Airport locations.

Good luck.

on my way to houston, where;s an Upscale, accessible place to stay?
