Great insight, some questions though

As a provider, how often or percentage of calls do you suspect is from LE?

My thoughts are, if providers are not posting an ad somewhere they must advertise elsewhere.  If it is on the streets then they will get harassed by LE.

Problem with private pay to play sites or the site I am thinking of is a major clusterf@ck.  As a client if you are not "in" you are really completely out of the loop and distracts from usage.  Simple things as viewing a picture requires money or credits which to me makes no sense.  I am not a window shopper but I would like to know what to expect before I plop down any money.  Not sure how this will work out for the mass population of TS providers that posted on CL for years.  Majority seem really tech challenged or perhaps language challenged.

I noticed that in Orange County since the removal of "erotic" services that there are only a small handful that posts ads in the adult section.  I don't see an increase in ads in backpages either.  If it affected OC, it must have hurt other cities as well.

Same for LA. The backpage does have a few more, cityvibe does as well, but nothing like the CL traffic that existed prior to having the Erotic section removed.  FYI, at least for LA, venuslist is almost 100% fake pics.

I was under the suspicion that most of the providers had others posting for them but that theory is thrown out the window, mainly the ones that don't advertise on Eros.

The only true resource is ER and Eros.  Backpage doesn't sort by area...ie in NYC region, you can't sort by Manhattan, LI, etc.  Craigslist has been damaged and is now a confused mess of assorted ads that are far from what existed in the past.

Regarding Orange County in particular - LE persecutes girls really aggressively, and I think the girls are fed up with the BS.  The OC jail was sued by a t-girl after she was abused while incarcerated.  She won! (And for those out of the area, that Sheriff is now in jail himself for 9 years for witness tampering... LOL)

I think we are seeing a fundamental change in how girls have to do business.  Basically being forced by LE into a regression toward the "old days."

In the old days (of advertising) guys found girls from escort magazines.  99% of of the photos were fake, and the guys knew it.  Rip-off and bait-and-switch was the name of the game.  GFE was non-existent unless you played at the very highest levels via quality private agencies.  The big winner was the magazine publisher, who got a buck for each copy. :-)

The past 10-15 years, up until about 3-4 years ago we enjoyed a period of internet dating relatively unimpeded by outsiders.  Ads were descriptive, you generally got what you expected.

You gentlemen actually got used to dating HONEST women who enjoyed your company and wanted to treat you right so you would come back.  :-)

The advent of easy posting on CL brought the street element onto the internet with the resulting media attention and subsequent enforcement and destruction of descriptive and easy posting.

SUMMARY:
I think we are going to see more instances of girls using fake photos for protection, or for deception by people who have no intention of following through on what you were hoping for.

Girls are afraid of persecution.  If you put your photo on an ad it will be printed and used against you.  But if they can't tie an ad to you by photo, phone, or finance it degrades persecution.

Same thing with phones and credit cards.  I think you are seeing less girls posting on CL now because many girls are not up to speed on things like pre-paid credit cards.  (No credit card, no posting...)

Also I understand it's difficult to get an ad processed and more difficult to change it, especially when traveling.  And at $5 per ad/day, CL is now more expensive than other venues.

And all this subterfuge costs MONEY!  Many girls, particularly girls who escort from a survival standpoint may not have the $500-$1500 to set up a pre paid credit card, or the $100 for a pre paid phone, on top of all their other costs.

The future is unclear.  I think we are moving toward private pay to play sites where members of both sexes are "vetted" in.  More like the TER model where girls who don't live up to expectations can be removed, while providing a level of protection to both parties that is currently unavailable otherwise.

But one thing is for sure, the girls will be more careful of who they see and you gentlemen will have to adapt and understand the reasons behind the changes.

Anyway - just my opinon, what do I know...

Happy hunting,
TS Jamie :-)

Hi Dave,
In answer to your first question.  I think it depends upon the location.  Places like Las Vegas will hit on girls time and time again.  In other cites the cops have better things to do and will generally only go after the girls if there is a complaint.

The sad part is that with all the media and LE attention to online dating everyone is totally paranoid and probably a lot of regular guys are getting blown off just for mishandling a contact.

Second question, you are right.  Private sites would leave out some people.  And it's doubtful that most t-girls will be involved.  Most of these groups are oriented toward GG providers.

Sadly I think that as online contacts change, many of the lower end CL type girls are going to end up back on the street, then in male jails where they will be denied hormones and further abused.  Right back to the same old cycle we have fought in the past.

I think that like anything, the girls who understand marketing and business, and who provide quality service will continue to do well, and the others won't.

I also think that there is always someone for everyone.  Some guys just want a car date.  :-)  Not everyone can afford to date porn stars, and not every guy wants to date at the higher levels.    But I think those who frequent forums like this are in general looking for something better than a date with a crack head.  So I think we will probably start to see a separation.

Aww, I don't know, I'm just a girl.

LOL,
TS Jamie :-)

The "craigslist problem" presents a huge opportunity for TER or an affiliated company to set up a user friendly site, that would also tie in to current reviews, and be light years better than CL ever was.  This could be a huge step forward for the hobby instead of three steps back as discussed above.  Keep it simple and inexpensive for the posters and easy to surf, and the you've got a winner!

Try selecting "Adult Services" then search "TS"... it will find many more ads than clicking "t4m"

Not looking for CL exclusive providers but it was a very good source to see who is visiting from other areas/neighboring cities and who is actually available.  I found it to be a bit more updated than the polished Eros ads that some providers have.
