This is not a dumb question.  There are so many fakes and theives out there stealing pictures.  About 6 mos ago I was in Raleigh NC.  I came acros a Ero add where the girl was so hot I had to meet her.  I entered a dark room with a man in a wig.  I was in there 30 seconds and I said you are not the one in the add.  It went to the bathroom and knocked on the door saying I will get my BF.  i ran out of there and ran down the stairs as fast as I could.  It called my cell over and over.  I finally called the Holiday Inn and told there there is a man dressed as a woman in room # XXX luring people in the room and robbing them.

So I would have no problem with asking them if they are their real photos and telling them nicely that f they are not I will turn around and walk out.  A girl from Atlanta took a photo with her camera phone and sent it to my I Phone to prove that she is as advertized.  The same girl told me that her pictures turned up in Chicago that week.    This is a huge problem and you are not someone's mark!

I agree with handsome63, and the genuine providers would not take the question in a bad way, nor take offense, they know there are so many rip offs that it hurts them too. However, just because someone has ligit pictures, does not mean they are highly rated providers. That you have to use your research powers to find out who is truly a exceptional provider.

Many here would do well to take heed.  If there were more like you, and more self-respecting & self-survival behavior (as I have alluded to in past posts) everyone would benefit ... except the scammers and thieves of course.  Newbies as I once was can be forgiven for not recognizing the signs or knowing the abundance of pitfalls in this market.  Others including, unfortunately, some posters on this board cannot.  I only hope it doesn't take long for them to eventually learn, that is if they really want it and not just titillation.

Go with the well-reviewed ones with honest appearing recomendations, if logistically possible.  What a difference it makes!  I went with a new one (new for me) recently who falls in this category....  ya know how good your hammer feels when it hits the nail squarely on the head?  Like that!

What everyone including yourself has forgotten is that there is no point in asking someone whether or not the pics they are using is them. think about it, why would a person go thru all the trouble of finding pics to steal and posting and ad with them just to tell callers NO THAT...'S NOT ME...? Your right they wouldn't! so at the end of the day that would be a stupid question and an irritating one...lolz ur best bet is to do like handsome said go to the door if it isn't them WALK AWAY! no one can force you into a room

and there's a difference. Old pictures of a lady and how she used to look can misrepresent what she looks like now.

The few times I've called ladies to ask questions about services, they have usually been if not nice, at least business like. The only times I've had trouble is when the lady's English language skills make it tough to understand her. I've never asked if the pics were legit, but I have walked when I found out first hand they were not accurate.

Think the big no no's over the phone are asking explicit questions about sex, and maybe how you ask about the donation, but other then that, if she does not want to tell you what you are asking about, take a pass or go for it and take your chances in person, imo.

Tranedrvr, you are probably correct.  If someone is going through the trouble of using fake pictures they probably will not be willing to admit this over the phone.  True, an SP using old pictures may admit that they are old and their hair color is different etc. but to me this is not fraud.  But I still think it is important to ask if their pictures are acurate and if they are reviewed (asking the latter usually results in a "slam" sound or a FU and a click).  But ask these questions anyway.  When you open the door and they are not who they say they are you have laid the ground work.  You can say "I'm sorry, you are not the girl in the ad" and walk or run away.
