I don't believe claims of credit card fraud at EROS

I've been also advertising with Eros for over 3 years. I've never had a problem with fraud until recently when a fraudulent charge appeared on my checking account through my debit card.

I would have never suspected the Eros connection, however:

1. The fraudulent charges appeared immediately after renewing my ad recently via phone with Eros. (within 24 hours)

2. The charges were all out of Raleigh--where Eros' customer service center is based. I've never been to Raleigh in my life, and I don't have any personal or business connection there besides Eros. The customer service agent asked me to verify my complete debit card number, including my address and three digit code on the back. This is everything that's needed to make purchases on my account. I would never have suspected Eros if it not were for another TS Gee who stated she needed to cancel her trip a few weeks prior due to fraudulent charges originating out of Raleigh IMMEDIATELY after posting her Eros ad. She also stated her girlfriend who is an Eros advertiser had the same thing happen to her.

3. I reported this to my bank immediately and the previous number has been reported as stolen and a new card was sent. The fraudulent charges have been credited back pending the bank's investigation. Basically I got the feeling that the bank couldn't give a shit about this...that it happens routinely and that it's none of my business what happens in their investigation, and that I should be happy they refunded my money.

4. All of the research I've done so far has been on my own. I've spent hours of my own time trying to get to the bottom of this. I even contacted the Domino's pizza in Raleigh where a pizza was charged on my account and the owner provided the address where the pizza was delivered and to whom. Yes, I did provide this information to the Raleigh PD and to Eros management.

4. Yes I did call the police in Raleigh and I filed a police report. Their attitude is basically the same as the bank's--who cares this happens everyday. I did follow up and I was told the detective assigned hasn't done anything since the report was filed.

5. I spoke with Eros management and was contacted by Hans, VP of customer service. He said they are taking this seriously and have already changed their policies regarding the privacy of client's credit card information. The CS reps can no longer see the entire number (I was told) whereas before they could. I asked Hans if it could have possibly been an outside attack from a hacker who is not affiliated with Eros, and he told me No, that their IT dept showed no evidence of an attack. He did offer me different options besides using a CC or debit card to make purchases in the future. I haven't heard from Hans since this happened, but my ad is up for renewal and I will be calling them again soon.

I agree with you that Eros would fire whoever did this, I never said or thought this was an intentional company wide problem or that Eros would turn a blind eye to this sort of thing. However the evidence is mounting and I don't think it's that far fetched for a rouge employee to be stealing from the company or from clients. I mean wow I'm sure they don't get paid that much and some people are just plain evil and greedy and don't see anything wrong with stealing from someone. It happens all the time. I worked at a restaurant where we have had food servers steal customer's information in just the same way.

6. I don't know how you manage to speak with just one person, because every time I call or IM them from the Eros 2.0 site, I get different people.  Some people are good, some are not. I've asked the same questions to different reps, and gotten different answers everytime. Their rules and the enforcement of them have been inconsistent at best and they've gone downhill in recent months.

Even if this didn't happen, what is most of the chatter on this board about? That's right...girls using fake photos on Eros--which is why we the clients have to play guessing games if the girl in the ad is going to be the girl in the photo. Allowing clients to use blatantly fake photos and pretending they don't know just to generate more business is not very "professional" to me. Other sites like P411 don't even allow girls on there who are not well-reviewed and verified. But, I'm not even going to talk about that...it has no relation to my issue, but your assertion that all Eros employees are squeaky-clean professionals made me giggle.

Now at least 3 girls (including myself) have had fraudulent charges appear on their account after posting an ad with them.Yes, I do not know 100% for sure if an Eros employee was involved, I mean the fact that Eros is in Raleigh and the charges originated out of Raleigh for both Gee and I, the fact that the charges started appearing immediately after submitting the very same card information to Eros, and the fact that Eros did not dismiss my charges tells me that they also believe it could be an employee of theirs. They even offered to waive the fee for their 3rd party cash-payment option when I pay. Why would they do that if they didn't take me seriously?

As I said in my original post this is all "alleged" until I know more. However I'd be a pretty stupid bitch not to make the connection. After all this is said and done, there's a possibility that my bank's, Raleigh PDs, and Eros' investigations may turn up nothing. I understand that..that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
