This may be a touchy subject but are there any drag queens who provide? I am asking this as people like Mimi Marks are classified as drag queens but in reality they are not, as she has breast implants and is/was on hormones.
I think the nomenclature, especially in the hobby environment gets interchanged a lot more than in the clinical sense. And really it's all fluid and people under the trans"gendered" umbrella may change from one to the other at different points in life.
My definition is a transsexual is a woman born with a mans body (or vice versa). She may or may not have implants, other surgeries or take hormones. But she "identifies" as a woman.
A transvestite is a person who dresses as a woman, but does not necessairly relate or wish to "be" a woman. A very femme gay male may fall into this catagory.
A "drag queen' is generally construed to be a flambouyant transvestite, often for stage effect. One who takes the female persona to an extreme. Ru-Paul, the Grand "Emperess" of the "Imperial Court" that sort of thing.
A crossdresser is usually (not always) a straight, married male who dresses in womens clothes for erotic purposes, not as a lifestyle.
If anyone wonders I identify as a transsexual. But it all boils down to you can call me whatever you want just so long as you call me, and often!
