can someone tell me the diffence b/w a cross dress, transexual, and transvestite?  Thanks

Cross Dressed = Usually a man that enjoys dressing as a woman but generaly does not pass as a woman... They only dress when engaged in sexual activity or to derive sexual pleasure.

Transvestite = A man that dresses as a woman in private and for her/his lovers and is usually passable and very feminine but does not live as a woman.

Transsexual = Someone who is undergoing preperation of becoming a genetic woman or who lives everyday life as a woman. These ladies may or may not choose to undergo the entire operation to make themselves a woman though will usually be taking some type of female hormones in order to make them more geminie and less masculine... Being Transexual usually indicated that they have breasts (implants) as oppsed to TV's or DC's who either stuff or wear some type of padded bra to give the impression of clevage.

Hope this helps

Star's reply is more than just a terse answer.  In the world of ts girls,  money isn't everything,  it's the only thing.

I borrowed from Coach Lombardi of course.  Didn't want to plagiarize or anything.

I still stand by my original post, but I'll add...

CD/TV = actually they are considered the same thing.  CD (crossdressing) has basically replaced the term TV (transvestite) because the term TV was often associated with "pervert".   Other than that, they are the same.   Usually, a person that dresses part time but lives their daily lives as a male.  They may or may not "pass", that has nothing to do with the definition.  They may also do it for sexual thrills, but also for just feeling feminine. *(Lots of grey area.  Read below.)

TS (transsexual) = Regardless of what Foggarty's post says, and regardless of SRS, Hormones, etc... a TS can NEVER become a genetic woman.  The best a TS can be is a transsexual woman.  A TS (mtf)will usually live full time as a woman.  TS's may or may not have breast implants, although most will undergo some sort of modification to their body to appear more feminine.  That may or may not include hormones, laser, electrolisis, facial surgery, body conturing, lipo, silicone injections and anything else you can think of.  Some go on to have SRS, some choose not to.

*Please be aware that there is a LOT of grey area in these definitions and that they are not 100% absolute.  For example, some CD's may take small doses of hormones.  Some TS's still have to shave their face. Some are gay, some are straight. Etc, etc, etc...  Also, there are drag queens, female impersonators, transgenders, genderf*cks, genderqueers and shemales.  Each has it's own variations.

Don't trust anyone that says they know the exact definition.  Nobody does.  Even the medical/gender specialists.

They're all defined in relation to something else, not as things unto themselves.
