A lot of girls don't call back.  Most figure if you really want to see them, you will call them again.  Also, some make it a rule never to call back unless you give specific OK to do so.

When a gent does leave a message and a phone number, if he does not tell me when to call I probably won't call him back. If a guy does leave me a number and a good time to reach him, I will almost always get back to him.

Guys what I suggest is when you call a girl leave a message that you called and will call back, or a good (safe) time to reach you.

I generally don't return unknown calls with no message because guys often do stuipd things like calling from work or home, and it's a womans job to protect you when you think with your little heads...

I try to answer the phone in person when I can. Except in rare circumstances I do not answer when I have a guest, during meals, or between about 10-11pm and 10am pacific time.
