Don't get confused, read up about it.  I've read many articles and I'm no STD Dr.  From what I have read, the chances of catching AIDS or HIV from oral sex are low, but a small chance still exists.  You can also catch Herpes if a partner is infected and you perform oral sex on them.  Hope this helps. Not to fill your head with readily available facts, but the answer to your question is very complicated. Google it! There are levels of risk that vary based upon likely contact between deliverer' blood and 'receiver' blood and/or other carrying agent contact. If receiving "head" and not having open sores on the penis, the risk for the receiver is considered "low". The main problem is the studies have a hard time determining the actual occurences of infection due to the fact that other sexual acts or intravenous drug acts may occur simultaneously.

There is always a risk, just what risk are you willing to accept. One MD suggests that 1 in 4000 people risk a fatal accident on LA freeways. Do you just stay home? Move? There are lots of anectdotal looks at the risk of AIDS. Just look to reliable sources (ie. probably not this board)!
