Some good points on this thread.  Perhaps a provider perspective can add a little.  And yes there are stereotypes which doesn't mean everyone fits the box.

Yes, it seems region plays some part in provider race ratios. There seems to be more latinas in the southwest, more blacks in the east and midwest, and some white girls in the northwest.

White girls are few and far between everywhere.  I believe because white girls often don't transition until later in life due to social and family pressures.  And when they transition later in life they tend to have developed mental issues and live on disibility, or they transition on the job and have a steady income.

My partner and I are educated, white, non-drug users.  White TS girls we meet who don't know what we do often have a total change of  tune when they find out.  They are appalled and disassociate.  White TS's often come from conservative backgrounds  and just can't relate.  A large number are military vets. (I belong to the American Legion... giggle)

Asian and latinas tend to transition in their teens - with little education, no job skills, and often little family support.  They often end up with no options other than sex work.  They often come from the inner city and develop drug problems.  They get into abusive relationships and are in and out of jail and rehab. NOT everyone of course, but certainly a percentage.

When the median wage is $60,000, the average 1 bdrm apt rents for $15,000 a year and buying the median priced house in San Diego requires a $100,000+ income and service jobs pay $10,000 a year - do the math.  We are still fighting for basic civil rights.  

And I think the reason you run into so many robs online these days is that these girls were always there, but they used to be standing on the Blvd. and you knew to keep a hand on your wallet.  But they learned how to post CL ads from their blackberries and now they are competing in the arena that used to be quality call girls only.

So anyway, I guess I got off topic.  But those are some of my thoughts on the thread.

I might be wrong on this. From what I've been exposed to as far as TS goes, ie: sites on the web, television, ts porn, ive noticed that a higher percent of TS are of hispanic race. Is there a trend here? If I'm correct, what is the reason for this? Ive tried investigating this on my own, but I havent really had any results

I think it really boils down to where you live. I hear there are tons of ts girls who are asian but there are a lot of HOT latin ones.  Question and I am not a racist.  Not by far.  I have noticed that black ts girls tend to be the ones that are scams or rip you off.  There are a handful that post fake pics on eros and travel around either robbing or scamming guys.  Any opinions?

seems to me over 80% of the ts girls are latin, i heard that it is the culture , the latin countries like brazil and other south american countries are more accepting and open minded to the ts lifestyle, also the thai culture is very open to the lifestyle.white america is probably the least open of all!! really hard to find a white ts girl. but the thing about the black girls is just a unfair statment,i have seen plenty of great black providers (matter of fact two of the best gfe's i have ever had are black tgirls,taylor saint james, and ashly allstar). i guess the bad apples just happen to be black but dont think it is because they are black!!

I think this thread is illustrative of how people draw general conclusions based on their narrow experiences.

I live in the midwest but travel to the west coast and south a lot. You tend to see a majority latin girls on the left coast and southwest. In the midwest its more black or white.

I'm black and date 95% black and stopped getting scammed years ago when I became more selective and careful but back then I got scammed by black and latin girls. I tended to not look closely enough or listen closely enough and failed to cut bait when I realized one was tweaking or mental.

I won't venture as to why such a seemingly high percentage of girls are latin my general thought is they tend to be more out there. The vast majority of black and white transgendered (by my narrow experiences) are not on the internet and do not escort.

Sorry to disappoint Mr. Owens, but his impressions are wrong based on the proportion of Latin profiles on TER and ads on Eros – approx. 40% are Latin.

As always you seem to hit the nail on the head. I travel about 60% of the time for a living and split that travel evenly between domestic and international destinations. I've seen exactly what you described although most Asians t-girls I've met come from poor rural areas. The only place I’ve seen a plethora of white t-girl providers has been in Europe and the UK. I figure that’s the case because of the more liberal lifestyle tolerated in this part of the world. With regards to street walkers taking over the escort scene by means of CL – right on again girl. It’s so frustrating. I don’t date out of CL anymore and now spend my leisure time making note of how many CL providers use the same pics. Before any of you tell me to get a life you need to go to the UK and watch the plane-spotters.
