I think that several other countries, even the United States who claim to be the leader in Human Rights issue and equality should follow this, how many transgender people in this country who wants to have a good job, health insurance, life insurance, good education and eventually getting married, i bet a tons, including me!!

So sad that most people are close minded, they do not consider us to be a third sex, so some people who are willing to have relationship are embarrassed or even threaten by the society. Like Oprah said " If all gay people in the entire world came out, the world would be a better place ", it's so true, because the gay hater ussually thos who are closetted homosexual and they hate themself and will hate others to cover up their homosexuality....

Bravo Thailand, and show the world that you are the only country in Asia who is going forward!!

...I dated an american pilot who flew the Asian market and he was open about dating TS women and his ex was a former flight attendant, but as soon as she transitioned(years earlier), they had her switched over to working reservations/ticketing/gate duties...he said that though they are more liberal with the acceptance of the "third sex", they basically can only do certain jobs...make up artist, show girl, shop girl, hair stylist...so the name tag is basically saying...Mai Li~ second class citizen...also let some small minded person who doesn't know the TG thing and see the name tag  and cause a scene or even some predator who thinks because he sees TG it means "meet me in the lavatory for initiation into the mile high club"...dfk, Rachel

Everything is so vague. I think the better place to live for TS after transition might be Canada or England to say the least.

I know it is not ideal. At the same time, its kind of a question of trying to start somewhere .
The airline has taken a first step. I know it could be better, but there are alot of issues that do not always have simply answers. I think this gives visibility to how beautiful TS women are. Hiring them for a profession that is still considered by some to be the domain of the most attractive is quite a compliment. I look upon it as an informative issue. There will be alot of guys who are open minded and this might be their first (known) interaction with a TS. "Wow she was really nice, not what i expected"  Personally I love interacting with TS on a non sexual level. I find i have alot in common and feel very at ease. I am in the entertainment industry and i remember working this one show and having a great time with a girl who had an extra role.
I never mix work & pleasure but i was tempted to in this instance. I wish i had  and gotten her number.
A few weeks later i was talking to a girl i know and she mentioned that my friend was a TS. I was kind of shocked but then i think of our conversations and i see alot of hints.
Looking back i was really disappointed i didnt pursue this girl. not so much because she was hot & a TS, but because it was kind of everything i wanted rolled into one. Someone you connect with on a personal & sexual level. If she had a gold tag on i would have thought"ok this really isn't appropriate but what are the chances i will meet someone as great as this, that i am just attracted to so much on a gut level who is ALSO a TS"

Why would it be better to live in Canada  or England after transition?
