Once users learn how to navigate and use a website, the application changes its format with no significant improvements in usability.  It's just different, not really better, in some cases worse, and the drudgery of learning feels like a mental treadmill without no cardio benefit.

Maybe it's done to keep all of those imported techies busy doing ... well, something they think has value.
