First your last question, is it cheating.  Nope, not as long as you are honest with your partner before you escort.  I don't mean each and every session, but rather the decision to be an escort.  Is your partner aware that you are an escort and that you exchange favors for money.  If so and they are OK with it then it isn't cheating, as long as that is the only way you see other partners.

But the bigger issue of are relationships possible the answer is yes, but it has added difficulties that civvie relationships don't.

First of all it takes a confident and open-minded partner to share their lover with another or many others for that matter.  It takes two people who understand and can live the idea that sex and love are two completely different concepts.
