"What's your number? I don't get on here much"

I've noticed that on SA a large number of POTS will respond to my inquiries and introductions with a reply that goes something like this: "Hey I don't get on here much, what is your number?" If I reply and give my number, or they give me theirs and I text them, either I don't hear back from them or if they text me, they say 'Hi" but if I reply, they ghost. I'm just wondering if there is a scam where they harvest cell phone numbers or sell them to scammers? I just don't see the benefit for a POT to offer a phone number or to solicit mine and then never engage. I realize there will be a certain number of POTS who are tire kickers or just women playing a game of hide and seek, but to have experienced it to the degree I am experiencing it now, there must be some kind of scam to it. This is separate from the ones who engage you and then try to hit you with a crypto or bitcoin/investment scam. It's almost always with the really attractive model photos, 10's too good to be true because they probably are Nigerian catfish rings. If these girls do engage in any texting at all, they will never do a voice call, they will never be 'available.'

My sense is that a scammer is looking for more than a "valid" phone number.  That's a lot of work to get one number when there is dark web software easily available to "generate" thousands of real numbers in a few minutes.

So a scammer on SA is playing for bigger dollars than the few cents they will get from selling your number.  That means the scammer will have to engage with you to start whatever scam script they have.

I expect this behavior is more likely the result of POT's who are looking to get fast hook ups. They shoot out several short messages in a few minutes then they pick maybe the first few SD's to respond and either push for a fast hook up (and cash out) or to set the hook on a fat, juicy fish of a simp.  In either case, taking more time and never rushing to meet favors the legit POT opportunities more than the scammers or GPS nutjobs.

That's why I am always suspicious of POT's who ask things like "WYD now?" or "let's meet tonight" in their first message.     I am not going to let my little head override my Spidey Senses and agree to show up at some seedy location with a big wad of cash just because her pics are hotter than a Victoria Secret model.

Finally, whenever I am skeptical about a POT I only send a WhatsApp contact that uses a Google Voice number. I only use that number for sugaring or mongering. Once I've connected and feel safe, I can let her know my real number.

Yup, instant block

These profit maximizers aren’t going to give you any more satisfaction than the pros and will be clock watching. Rarely does it work in my experience.

Something still doesn't add up about these POTS always asking to text offsite, then when I give my text number I don't hear back from them. It's happened far too many times to be a coincidence. If they were looking for a quick hookup or quick-buck payout there would at least be some back and forth interaction, at least a few texts, but often there isn't. This must be happening to other guys too. I'm always a gentleman when I interact with POTS so it can't be my approach. If she gives me her number, I'll say "Hi it's * from Seeking" using my screen name or my first name if we've exchanged those already. After that they will usually ghost.
