Hence you could either:

1) get the first one over quickly and work on #2

2) or try to prolong #1 by

a) learning how to do Kegels (squeezing your pubococcygeous or PC muscle)
b) squeezing underneath the head of your penis
c) start-stop (less fun for the lady, maybe)

My vote is to get #1 over with and work intensely on #2. In Europe, many men resort to Priligy with good success. For whatever reason, the FDA has kept it on hold forever, to the immense frustration of so many.

I don't know if it is because I don't have sex enough or simply get overexcited when I am with someone, or that my expectations are incorrect.   I don't think it qualifies as premature ejaculation, but often just a couple of strokes and I am done.  I had a mistress once that I could last awhile with.  In fact she has been the one of the few women I have been with that I could last a long time with, getting her to orgasm a couple of times before I did.

Maybe this is just me, but I don't look at it in terms of time as much as the quality of the experience. I would rather have a quality half hour than an hour session where it comes down to the end and I am struggling to get to some arbitrary finish line...but then I am not really a multiple pop guy. I like some teasing and some seduction. Combine that with 15 to 20 minutes of good sex and I am a happy camper.
