As many of you know I used to moderate the Newbie board oh so long ago and on the Newbie board we had a policy that "there are no dumb questions", and that posters were never to be ridiculed for what would often be some pretty dumb questions to those of us who had been around for a while. I have to admit, I "might" have suspended that policy for your question and allowed a few well deserved slings and arrows, and maybe even a rotten tomato or two to be directed your way for a question like this one. lol

I'm not doing the SB thing. I'm a learner, not a doer.  I was at a party the other night and playing in the background on the TV was a late night "Call me!" telephone dating commercial. I don't remember the name of the dateline, but the spokesmodels were pretty!  "Are you bored? Let's meet up!" "Call me!"  Are these just dollar-a-minute NOTHING BURGERS or are they potential ways to meet SBs for dating? Do any REAL SBs ever use those services?

If nobody here knows the answer, I'll just call my Psychic Advisor for their sense of the matter.

Is this a serious question? These would be rows of women, probably with India accents, whose job is to keep you on the line as long as possible.  Think about it, the first few seconds of a convo with a real woman would be for you to give here your phone number and get off the payment plan.  

Besides, texting surpassed voice in 2007. Nobody sits around a phone anymore waiting for strangers to call at random times.

I'm not going to go back to look up FOSTA/SESTA but it is all about the web, right? We know about the old fashioned methods of finding people: actual hard copy newspapers and weeklies with personal ads and larger (1/8 page, 1/4, ... full page ads) in the back = the back pages that were the origin of the idea for "backpage" itself. Even before that, there were hard copy Yellow Page directories (conveniently in every hotel room for tired travelers in need of a massage), often with marked up or torn out pages.

Is there any FOSTA/SESTA resistant telephone technology that might work? A mobile friendly web site won't work because that's still the web. It has to be completely independent of the web (assuming that the incidental use of VOIP to call a dating agency is NOT "the web" and is exempt).

I wish Kraft would just fess up and plead the case for legalization all the way up to SCOTUS, if needs be.

I know this is just a case of Imp being Imp, but just like the morons that used to post on the Legal Board, you haven't found a magical work around for FOSTA/SESTA any more than the geniuses that thought they had found the magic bullet around prostitution laws by filming the session and calling it a "porn shoot"  

 
I would say "nice try", but while it was mildly entertaining you didn't exactly break any new ground, in fact what you did do was to replow a VERY old field.  Now give that poor mule a break and try looking for a 21st century solution to a 21 century problem.

 
As for Kraft, I know as most New Yorkers hate anything to do with the Patriots, but pleading a case for legalization in his case would be about as fruitless as your idea. What he is doing is the best thing he could do for ALL of us and that's fighting Big Brothers right to "snoop" in our bedrooms, bathrooms and massage tables. It's his best bet and does the rest of us the most good in the process.

about the guy who knocks on the door of the incall.  The hooker opens the door and he says, "I want to get fucked."  She says that will be $300.  He hands her the money and she closes the door, so he starts banging on it.  She opens it again and he said, "I SAID I want to get fucked!!!"  She says, "Again?"

 
So yeah, there IS a difference.
