One thing I've noticed is when I send an introduction to a POT, some reply with "I don't get on here much. text me at 555-555-5555" Many times these same POTS are active on SA nearly every day. Red flag.
This has happened probably 30-40 times with me in the last year. In almost every case, if I text that number she lists, I'll rarely if ever get a reply, and if I do get a reply, it will be a "Hi" or "Hey" or some similar one or two word response and then any further attempts to engage her she will ghost. I think these are either tire kickers or scammers just harvesting legit phone numbers to use for sending spam texts to you later from a different number. Typically those spam texts will say something like "Hey I found you in my address book but don't remember your name." I always block these spam texts but I suspect they have something to do with the phone number harvesters on SA. It's happened too many times to be a coincidence.
I see these "not on here much" notes as well, but I almost never see them add a phone number in the profile. I'm not sure, but I believe adding personal contact info like a phone number in the profile text is a violation of the TOS, at least on Seeking. I know that profile text must be approved by Seeking admin before it can "go live."
I do see POT's sending a short message and a phone number either in reply to me, or when they message me first. These are almost always either UTR Hookers, GPS queens bordering on being ROB's, or catfish/scammers.
A "legit" POT will generally want at least two or three message exchanges on the site first to give them some idea of your "vibe." It's essentially the online version of asking a chick for her number in a bar. You wouldn't walk up to her and just say "give me your phone number"... unless you look like Brad Pitt, or she's been eye-fucking you from the other side of the bar for a while. (This has only happened to me once, and we ended up being cock-blocked by her husband who worked around the corner... but that's a story for another day...)
Yes, in replies only not profile. I think you are right, Herb, most if not always when they give number that fast it's not going to be legit or they are in a hurry to move it along to get the bag or get a PPM quote or rinse.
