I think her revelation of this very significant fact, which she casually mentions in response to a commment below, deserves its own thread.

LG, you have helped so many people in this hobby: I can hear a round of applause for you from around the country.

Imagine.  How many licensed therapists would volunteer to do so much work for free.

Everyone has always said you are a gem.  Now we know you're a gem continually giving herself away for free.

That fact is a Revelation worthy of a capital R.

I have learned alot reading this board and contributing (many times under an alias).  Its actually helped me to get a different perspective during tricky times.

It doesn't surprise me that you do it as a volunteer.  In simply reading your posts, I have a good feeling that you are pretty exraordinary and very caring and giving.

You Rock!

It's not exactly worded in the California B&P Code or in any ethical standards, but just like lawyers, we therapists are expected to do some pro bono work or at least give back to the community in the form of a sliding scale. So I've chosen to charge full fee in my practice, but to volunteer in this particular community instead.

Of course there are other Q&A venues on the Internet, but none specifically dedicated to qualified psychological advice to commercial sex participants on both sides of the fence. At least I haven't seen it! Now, it also shows that TER gives back to the community, and really, completely gratis. Anyone who finds TER can register and ask questions on TEH. We even have participants from Down Under!
