My profile was favorited by a woman several states away who said she liked my pictures. I thanked her for the compliment and pointed out the distance between us.  She said, what a coincidence, she often visits her father who lives near me.  When I tried to reply, I found her profile was off limits to me.  When that happens it usually includes a message from seeking saying the member has deactivated their profile or blocked you.  We've all seen that, right?  But this time the message that appeared was an odd one:

Due to the gender preferences of the member you are attempting to communicate with, you are unable to send this member a message.

Never seen that one before!  Any clue about it means?  Her profile, as I recall, did say she was looking for men.  I'm a man. So wtf?

You recall I have had a female "research" profile on Seeking for many years.  At one point I updated her preferences from "Looking for: men" to Looking for: men/women."  Since then, "she" has received several messages from Cougar/MILF type women. About half of those were single women, while the other half were in some type of hetero relationship and said they were looking for a 3rd (or 4th, 5th, etc. if that can be believed).  

 
I think the POT that reached out to you has her "Looking for" set to "women" either inadvertently or intentionally, and she either did not realize or just forgot when she messaged you.  

 
Let's hope she send her text info.
