Interesting article.  Just discovered this site, livescience.com.  Has a few articles on human hormonses and evolutionary psychology, which come up a lot on this Erotic Highway Board

Another interesting article from the same website.
Hmmm.  Posters to this Board seem very creative to me...

Sex will create a child,
but it takes love to raise them.

It makes sense that our evolution would have produced hormones which not only encourage (a) sex for reproduction, but also (b) sticking togther for for long enough to raise the child.

The partner for (b), of course, may not even be the same man as the partner for (a).

Anthropologist Helen Fisher has written a lot about this.  Any relation to you?  Her studies conclude that the most common time for divorce is after four years of marriage - long enough for the child to be raised.  After the romance hormones wear off, it's a tough time, unless you last until the contentment hormones kick in.

I suspect that many TER members might be in long marriages, where the romance hormones have long ago worn off, but they stick around because of the contentment ones (while seeking gratification outside the marrriage).  Any comments?
