I just read a little about this service today. I am in Minnesota and was wondering if anyone knows if they do surrogate therapy anywhere around here? I dont want to travel out west for this.
Unfortunately pickings are slim in Minnesota. There used to be IPSA, the international professional surrogates association, but their website is no longer up. I have attached another website for you. From there, you can visit AASECT, which does have therapists in Minnesota. You may wish to contact one of them and inquire about surrogates.
In general, professional and competent surrogates do not operate on their own, but under the supervision of therapists. Hence, you'll need to be in therapy with a mental health professional, which you certainly can find on the AASECT link.
Here's the IPSA Site...Getting anyone to respond is a challenge! I sent my 8 page application for training over three months ago and haven't heard a thing.
