Search numbers dropping?

I don't know if this is a temporary anomaly or a meaningful trend.  But in just the last 30 days the number of results I get from my normal SA search has dropped quite a bit.  I live in a target poor area, so my normal search results are only around 1630.  But that number was quite steady for the past year, as new ones showed up and old ones dropped off. The normal fluctuation was only about + or - 5 every week. But in the last month it's down to 1580, a full 50 (or 3%) reduction.  That's a lot.  Have any of you seen similar trends?

Location absolutely matters as well as the time of the year and age group of your search. I have clients in Phoenix and Central Florida so have Tempe and Orlando in my profile. Tempe is interesting... I reached out to many prospects over the holidays when I had time to kill and didn't hear much back, but now they are coming in fast because school is back in session so they are there and looking for sugar (too bad I'm not there right now)... Orlando stayed seemingly the same throughout that time period. I would imagine in less college dense areas see the effect that it is slower when college starts. Also, the pandemic has certainly created some unusual dynamics.

I would also suspect the $600 most received in the last month could also have 'thinned the herd' a bit in more remote areas.

My results have stayed consistent. Using the same saved search set for many months, I get between 775 and 790 "hits" every day.

And I'm not inclined to worry over a 3% variance.  This has always been somewhat seasonal. Although I will admit that no one here has ever definitively defined what the "seasonal" levers are. LOL I think when we try to explain "seasonality" we are actually just rationalizing some type of reason to explain the results. So we come up with theories like:
1. End of month - rent is due
2. End/start of college semester
3. Holiday periods
4. Pandemic pressure/unemployment stats

The reality is unknown. We are trying to measure behavior of a large population without any valid behavioral tools. It's like  trying to measure your dick size with her mouth... wait, that can actually work. Ok, it's like trying to measure the speed of light with dick joke. (See what I did there? :p
