I've been getting a lot of these lately. As far as I can tell, it's never a legitimate offer of companionship when a SB favorites you without ever viewing your profile. It's often from a profile, (probably fake) with a set of pics of a very hot looking girl who then immediately asks for your phone and/or email for various phishing reasons. Or it's someone from a foreign country who is evidently favoriting hundreds of profiles seeking to find that one guy who will help her get into the US. Is that your experience also? Am I missing something? I can't think of any reason why an honest SB would favorite a profile she has never viewed.
But not exclusively from foreign profiles. It's easy to do as a favorite button shows up on each profile shown on the search results screen. I often think that it's a technique used mostly by semi-pros to get an initial message from POT SB's. The layout of the profile record in the search table has Net Worth, Annual Income, and Lifestyle Expectation on he right side column next to the heart used to mark a favorite. . Premium level SB's can search on all of these three filters (and more of course), while non-premiums cannot. So maybe it's like a speed tactic to get attention from a wide net of POT SD's with serious money and a high-sugar intent?
It's the SA mobile app. When you start up the app the first thing you see is a Tinder-like stack of profile photos. You can either swipe left and pass, or swipe right and it auto-favorites. Plus the stack defaults to profiles within 50 miles and all ages. These can be changed in the options menu, but it's not intuitive. And SB's probably don't really care about distance or SD age - at least at first. . Just imagine a newbie SB flipping through the photo stack and inadvertently favoriting several dozen or more profiles without actually looking at the profiel details. It's not shotgun. It's casting a wide net. It's just how you use Tinder. . It's almost funny, but it's really just sad for all of us old fuckers. I'll bet that the vast majority of us SD's access the site with a PC or tablet using a web browser. And conversely, the vast majority of SB's access the site on a mobile phone using the SA mobile app. It just clicked for me how many of the POT SB's I've been talking to or meeting have mentioned that they found me, or did something "on the app", rather than "on the site". . Goddamn, I feel old.
I do usually access SA from my desktop or tablet using a web browser. But even when I browse on my phone (Android) I use the phone's browser. I must say that the mobile version of SA that appears on my phone is quite well thought out and is a pretty good approximation of the PC website. I've never encountered the swipe right/left app you described or even knew it existed. I guess that proves I'm old!
I think you only nailed it with new girls. Many use the site like we would but will favorite guys without giving much thought. One ex of mine SB had an Asian fetish. She showed me how she favorited all of the Asians with high enough net worth. Another SB showed me how she would sort for background verified and high income guys and then favorite every guy with halfway decent pics. Neither of these girls would really look at the profiles until they got a message back.
I’ve used the swipe feature in the app and it quickly starts showing the same people or glitching out. It doesn’t work nearly as well as tinder so I’m guessing most girls will get over that feature after a while.
from foreign SB to where more than half are coming from brand new SB. Funny, it never occurred to me just to 'shot gun' possibly hundreds of SD and let them respond back if there is some interest. I think someone from these boards suggested that it would be a good idea if SA could limit slecting favorites to a reasonable limit each day, thereby putting an end to this abuse.
I've also noticed the same thing lately. In fact most are from SBs that signed up the same day or the previous day. Not only from abroad. This is happening so often that I think either some SB guide is telling them to shotgun or the system itself is somehow automatically favoriting anyone they look at
They’re either from out of state looking for someone to fly them here (LA), or they’re from a foreign country - the PI, for sure, but also Latin countries, Russia/Ukraine, and a handful from East Europe or Africa. I generally ignore or hide or if I’m grouchy, block.
