Uh oh. I think I may have to do a major rewrite of the original script:
.
A plainclothes policeman follows the suspicious SB to her meeting with the older gentleman at the cafe. After surreptitiously eavesdropping on their carnal conversation, the policeman approaches the table to arrest them both. The Three Stooges swoop in and distract the detective! This gives the older gentleman and his SB a chance to make their escape ... as "She falls under his spell and offers herself to him."
After several attempts to get our schedules to match I finally got this 28yo potential SB to agree to meet me at Starbucks today at 4:30pm. She chose the location saying she did not have a vehicle. I expected her to arrive on foot. I got there early as I always do and waited. She never showed up, or answered 5 texts I sent her. Finally I went home. Just another flaky girl, no biggie, right? But then at 8:30pm she texted me: "I'm so very sorry, I was stopped by a police officer while walking there, and was detained until just now. Can I please meet up with you tomorrow? I'm so sorry for being unable to explain to you what was going on or that I wasn't going to be able to make it." I thanked her for the apology and asked her why the police stopped her. No reply. Should I agree to see her tomorrow? Nah, I think I dodged a bullet!
Any gal stupid enough to send out an excuse like that, even if it is the truth (Which I greatly doubt.) is not someone I'd want to get involved with.
Gals who have half a brain know to stick with the tried and trusted "family emergency" excuse, which 99% of the time means that a more financially appealing situation came up for them. Who can blame them?
Strange things can happen. It would seem she could make up a better excuse, so there is a chance it's real.
In light of the 'don't burn bridges' mantra I might -- if it were not a huge inconvenience and if you think the gal is promising -- give her a second chance, and she might be grateful.
She replied to my request for info as follows: "Because they thought that I was someone else. Apparently I have a look- alike that's in some major legal trouble. They thought I was giving them a fake name because my name REALLY doesn't sound all that legit. (thanks Mom and Dad for that one!)". Sounds like it could be true, so if she still wants to meetup I'll probably give her a second chance.
I try to come up with various scenarios for consideration and to think about work arounds.
.
In this case, let's assume her story is true. On the TV show or the movie, the LE shifts differ from day to day. The guys who detained her the first time are doing now something else. On the second meetup day, some OTHER LE who don't know about the catch-and-release from the previous week take notice of her and follow her to the Starbucks where she meets up with a mysterious older gentleman, possibly an international spy or head of a drug cartel assumed to be armed with lethal weapons. ... I'm still working on the rest of the script and I can't decide whether to go for Maltese Falcon, James Bond, Die Hard, Thomas Crown Affair or The Three Stooges. Do you have a preference?
.
If it was me, I'd be on the lookout for whoever is on the lookout for her!
.
Good luck!
I like the international spy scenario! The mysterious older gentleman is artfully grooming her to be his apprentice for some dangerous mission. She falls under his spell and offers herself to him.

"I don't care who loves who, I won't play the sap for you..."
From The Maltese Falcon, and imporant words for all of us to remember!
I'm with Scaramouche.
Trust is a key part of any successful relationship. Even, an unconventional type like sugar dating. She's tarnished her reputation. Now, she needs to demonstrate that she's trustworthy.
I'd be willing to give her a chance, if I could do so with minimal effort and time (e.g. she meets me someplace convenient to me). If not right away, maybe at some future date. But, if she's unwilling or unable, I would move on.
Since Herb is on vacation, I'll chime in.
First, do I have enough attraction to her to make it worth getting to meet her. And dealing with all of the potential crazy.
If not, no need to go further. If so, let's say she's insanely hot and we had really good chemistry. Set a meet and greet somewhere nearby. Also, near a fairly discrete motel. I would tell her straight up, we are going to chat for a bit and head to a place. Not my place after if we hit it off. This way, I'm not traveling far to see her. Nor am I risking much if she's crazy and starts stalking me. I definitely would not have her at my place or shag pad till she establishes herself with me. Let's be honest, most girls don't last past a few dates due to flakiness.
