Must be the holiday season.  First my profile on SA was suspended for inappropriate language. I think i did say, “I compensate as we go, like commissions”.  Got banned.  So I created a new profile and I’m back on.  Only to get potentially scammed with an extortion attempt.  I wouldn’t go to kik, sc, or give my social media information but the “girl” on the other end told me she had my FB information as well as my IP address and was going to my wife unless I gave her 5K.  I just deleted her.  Blocked the number, and I’ve moved on.  Give your burner number fellas. Constant Vigilance!  There isn’t anyway she/they/he/it can get to your FB with a phone number.

If the number you give out is listed on your FB AND you have not gone to FB settings to restrict who can see your (or search for) your number, you can be discovered. I've had to help at least 2 porn star escorts with this as their real name and all FB postings, photos, and info was not set to private on FB. When I showed them I could access their FB page, they freaked out, until I talked them off the ledge...

In the hands of a skilled network expert, an IP address can tell them your general location, and can validate that you are (probably) accessing a site or service from the same device as you did in the past. But they'd need to go to your Internet Service Provider to get access to any PII (personally identifiable info) from them - which would be illegal and a violation of several privacy laws.
