Pretty common. It's the fantasy sold by these sites and also the news stories (aka press releases) you see published from time to time.
With regard to SB, etc
Are Ashley Madison and Adult Friend Finder
options to consider?
I hear SB might be better than these, although SA is supposed to be better than everything else. Have yet to try it SB. Have been on SA for 15 days now , lots of girls don't reply. Many move to text and then ghost, many are trying to sell pictures. Most don't want to meet for a cup of coffee. I have had two coffee dates in 15 days. One resulted in a date, the second I declined as she turned out to be much heavier in person than her profile. SB world seems to be a lot of work.
I just got asked again for 200 for just a coffee date with a SA girl. Is this common or am I picking the wrong ones? This has happened to me before.
Pretty common. It's the fantasy sold by these sites and also the news stories (aka press releases) you see published from time to time.
I have found the newer younger girls seem to have stars or dollar signs in their eyes and are entitled to your money just because they took the time to meet you.
TLDR: Don't bother.
.
SB is about 95% scammers and fake profiles. I have heard from a few here who claim they met one or two POT's, but was never able to do so. They set up their business model so that the more you message, the more you pay. I went through $300 worth of spend in 3 months to find nothing.
.
AM is supposedly married women who want some side dick. I suppose it is, plus a fair amount of escorts (not that there's anything wrong with that!) and cat fishers (definitely something wrong with these!). The bigger issue with AM is their history of being hacked for personal and payment data. And the people who stole that data used it to blackmail married men on the site. My buddy was a victim of this scheme. He received detailed and accurate info about him in an email demanding bitcoin or risk being outted to his wife, family and work. What scared him about this was that the email named all of those people, with their email and phone info. He ultimately confessed to his wife and, fortunately, his data was not sent out. But scary as fuck!
.
For me, although I think there is a decent chance of getting a hook up from AM if you live in a large metro area, these are not the type of women I want to take BCD (i.e.: MILFs, and married soccer moms). Add the risk of subsequent data breaches and I'll pass.
.
As for AFF, I have no experience. My take on it is it's essentially low end escort ads and has a high risk of ROBs.

Ashley Madison is a sausage fest. 10:1 guys. Why should chicks hang around AM for payless dates when they can make money for sugar dating.
back when I was a newbie I tried both Ashley Madison and Adult Friend Finder and discovered they were both worthless depressing scams designed to take my money under false pretenses and deliver nothing. In particular I recall my very strong impression that most of the profiles were fakes being written by the same staff member. If you have a good "ear" you can tell that the voice is the same. Also, AM actually admitted, deeply buried in their terms of use, that they occasionally post fake profiles called Ashley's Angels, ostensibly designed to "enhance the user's experience". Total crap. After discovering TER and SA I never looked back. OK I suppose by now somewhere in the univers you could find a guy who has actually gotten laid from AM or AFF. But don't waste your time. TER and SA are real, target rich, and totally worth your effort and dollars.
I’ve tried many of them and had similar results to those stated. SA seems to have a larger pool of SB, but in some periods it seems like 80+% don’t even read messages, and in other periods nearly 80% at least read a message. AFF more than half seem fake and when there is communication they seem more demanding of you being available when they want you to be available. SB lot’s of fake, some workers using the site, especially when traveling but a fair amount of ghosting/ no show. WYP (run by SA) has a unique approach, but in some areas there are so few women on the site and have encountered a lot of accepting then ghosting/no show. Was on AM early on, but too few in my area so got out well before the hack, never went back. Would estimate I’ve had as much luck on more standard dating sites compared to the specialty sites to find a woman who is open to being in the bowl.
For now, SA is the only site you have a decent chance of meeting SBs. But, the site is on a downhill trajectory for some time. I met my first SB (about 10 years ago) on SugarDaddyForMe ... that site has almost disappeared now. But, at its peak, it was a decent site in my area.
What makes you say that? In my area SA is continuing to go gang busters, lots of new cuties every week or month, not too many scammers, and a reasonable rate of expectation$$.
I live in what most people would call "Pussy Siberia" There hasn't been more than a couple of TER reviewed providers in my small city in over a decade. In spite of that fact I manage to get laid "almost" every day, and I almost never fuck the same girl two days in a row. If this is a "downhill trajectory" I would have fucked myself to death long ago during the good times . lol
Actually, if I still lived in Dallas I'd probably have to be turning down countless dates as there simply would not be enough time to fuck every available hottie. Maybe in my younger days (50's) when I could fuck two or three girls every day it would be one thing, but at my advanced age today, I am more than happy with one a day so it's probably a good thing I am no longer in Dallas. lol
Not sure if he meant there were fewer hotties, or if their expectations were getting ridiculous.
SA can be a bit cyclical in my area -- a month or even two with not enough new faces to make it interesting. But it always comes back. For the last two months, "where?", "when?", and "yes, that's good with me" were common phrases in my communications.
I haven't studied it enough to know what causes the cycles. I live in a town with almost 30,000 students, so I am guessing that I would find Aug and Sept to usually be great times. And as I said, Dec and Jan were strong.
But in my area, decidedly not a downhill trajectory.
I have had a lot of success there.
Please do share your secret to success there. i am mystified by the winning strategy in terms of the right offer up front that isn't too high or too low. And, of course, factor in the naive ones on there who actually think you're going to pay for a platonic date and nothing else.
I always start with about $100 for the first date and go from there. I will talk via the messaging and do some of my screening there and save the $100. It is usually worth the investment to see and talk to them.
The problem with WYP is that it costs a lot just to be able to communicate with the girl, who generally tends to not reply at all. And if she doesn't flake out, she wants too much for what you want. At least sometimes you can get the staff to credit you if you got no response, but it takes some effort.
TL/DR: WYP is similar to SA, but there is a $100-ish spend front-loaded into the process
.
.
I was using WYP as early as 2009, well before I found SA, and was doing well with it. As coolgolfer implies, you need a nuanced approach to connecting with POT SB's on WYP. Reading between the lines of her profile is more an art than a science.
.
They used to have an option box in the "Looking For" section of a profile that said "Sugar Dating". That was removed pre-FOSTA/SETSA when they were getting increasing press about the site being used for prostitution, just as SA was getting the same pressure.
.
There are a significant % of profiles on WYP (maybe 40%) that are just "professional daters" who can get 3 to 5 lunch or dinner dates a week and make decent bank (as opposed to a min wage job). Let's say she can get $100 for a 1st date four times a week. That works out to about $1,720 a month, tax free. Not a bad income for about 6 hours of "work" per week. These need to be avoided of course.
.
The rest are split between POT SB's, flighty noobs who will flake, and scammers.
.
My approach was similar to SA in that I'd get them off the site message system quickly and ask more useful questions by text. To do that, you need to go through a 1st date bid process. One of you makes an offer/ask, the other replies with a counter, and so on until you agree on an amount. Then messaging on the site is open to both parties.
.
When I started, in the Bay Area of California, I saw 3 to 5 new profiles in my area a week, and I was able to schedule a 1st date for between $50 and $125 about twice a month. Of those, maybe 75% led to at least one BCD conversion and 4 to 5 of those were good candidates for an arrangement.
.
But in the last 5 years (just before I moved back to Los Angeles) the new profiles dried up and there are maybe 3 or 4 a year in my area. Perhaps an unintended consequence of SA's aggressive marketing?
.
As for how to price your 1st date bid, err on the side of modest amounts, and, as with SA, remember that your cost of the date (food, drinks, parking, etc.) mean nothing to her. She can't spend the $50 you paid for a rib eye steak. So, be careful selecting an expensive restaurant just to impress her. She will just infer you have more $$ to spend on her. I usually made my initial offer between $50 and $100, depending on her profile, her proximity to me and of course her looks. I'd usually end up between $75 and $125 for the date amount. Note that I choose decent restaurants with modest prices so my out lay for food was between about $50 (for lunch) to about $90-100 (for dinner with drinks). Naturally, I pushed for lunch dates 1st.
.
Once you get the paid 1st date, the process to set up an agreement is the same as SA.
.
Worth it? When it was the only game in town, absolutely yes. Now that SA has emerged and is getting the majority of new profiles, nope, not really.

I have found my experience a little different. On SB I've gotten many responses although I have to admit only one BCD. Several have ask for ridiculous amounts of money for a BCD. On SA many are from states far away and also from other countries. Still very new to the sugar bowl but so far not disappointed.
