thanks again for all the suggestions!
I tried the Mach 3 with shaving cream and a lot of care and it looks pretty good, with no bloodletting! Thank God!
I am seeing a provider on Tuesday so I will get her opinion on how I did!
thnaks again to all that responded!

Do you have any advice on products to remove pubic hair for a man? I am looking for a Nair type product for the genitals
I trim and try to shave, but I always have some hair left.

Check beavershaver.com.  Really, I've been using one for several years.  Chemicals not for sensitive pubic/scrotal areas!

Ummm...bruceruns69,

I wouldn't necessarily use Nair on any intimate parts - there are specific warnings on the bottle for that one. The skin on and surrounding your genitals is quite delicate and you could end up getting a nasty little 'burn' or at least severe irritation.

If trimming and shaving is difficult for you, then waxing is the next step. There are cold wax strips to purchase, but from personal experience, I don't think they work as well as hot wax. Now, I'm not suggesting that there is some kind of BDSM experience involved here, although some may enjoy precisely that ;-). If you go to an experienced waxer, it is NOT painful. The wax is pleasantly warm and it feels like s/he is pulling off a band-aid, more or less. No, it's not like in the movie "40-year old virgin." That was done for effect, although I guess if you have a chest carpet like the one Steve Carrell sported, it could get slightly uncomfortable, LOL.

You can also laser off the hair permanently. You will be numbed and then lasered. Believe it or not, some women have had their entire genital area lasered and IT WORKS. But of course it's not cheap, and you may not want to go that far.

Another way to go is to purchase a shaver specifically designated for this area. Now I'm not endorsing a particular one here  but "Bodyworx Body Shaver" can be purchased on the Net and apparently works. There's also "Intimate-Shave Electric Razor" and a variety of specific razors uniquely for the stubbled area; do a search through Google and you'll find plenty.

Hope that works,
The Love Goddess

Thanks for your responses and ideas!

It doesn't necessarily work on all types of hair and/or skin.  The laser works by immolating the follicle.  In order to do that the laser light needs to distinguish the hair from the surrounding skin.  Thus, if you have dark hair and fair skin, you're a good candidate for laser hair removal because of the contrast.  If you have blonde, red or gray hair and fair skin, it may not work or you may need more treatments.  Likewise, if you have very dark skin and very dark hair, you may need special treatment -- i.e., a stronger laser.  Be sure you go to a reputable provider of this service.  There are quite a few quacks out there who oversell laser capabilities.

Correct!

If your hair is gray or if your skin is very dark and you have black hairs, it may not work, although the YAG laser is supposed to fix that too.

I've never seen lasered females with gray pubes though, so maybe that's a very small market, LOL.

Yup, go to a reputable medical facility,

Kinda gay if you ask me . Unless you just trim a bit :)

A genital jungle does not a hetero make.

Guess I am old school and I think shaving your chest is gay too :)

First rinse well with warm water.
Use a pre-shave.
Use the shave cream from these guys and a Mach3.
You will get the desired results.
Do not ever use any chemicals near the equipment.

I decided that a trimmed look would be better.  NEVER in my life had I performed this delicate (NOW I use the term "delicate!") maneuver and I can state - I'm unqualified.

I trimmed the "big stuff" with my razor.  That was easy enough and stupidly gave me more confidence to go for the next layer down.   OUCH! The razor actually nicked me and brought blood!  Why didn't it do that on my face?   That's a fact that's now evident but wasn't then.  OK, no more of that.

I read a post on TER that said a hair conditioner makes a great skin preparation and also has the slippery comonents to aid the shaving.

I have a big shower that would hold 4 people (no, the answer is I've never, sadly, done that)and I need my glasses on to see close.  So I am lathering up my private area with hot water running, with my glasses steaming up and trying to bend over far enough to see my sac / etc. while scared shitless to do this!

Even an idiot like me can figure out that you need to pull all the skin taunt and go slowly.  Going slowly is ok, not seeing with my glasses all steamed up is no ok.   OUCH!  well, there goes another pint of blood.

I won't go on but if this had been put on YOUTUBE it would be the hit of the site.

Oh, and also don't slip while doing this.  That's another story.

Been there and done that.

The first time I decided to shave down, I was EXTREMELY careful.  My biggest problem was my shaking hand (yikes).

Then after a few times, I thought I had the system down pat.  Trim with Norelco Body Shaver.  Use plenty of dove soap and carefully shave with a new Mach 3 blade.  What could go wrong?

Well, I got cocky (so to speak).  Was a little too quick on the bottom side up-stroke on the boys.  Looked down a second later to an alarming amount of blood dripping into the tub below me.  The water all around was diluting it and making it look ten times worse.  I thought I was gonna bleed out!

I know, all the women are thinking, "Men can be such babies about such a little thing."  But you gotta understand, we are not used to blood being anywhere NEAR down there.  It makes most of us queasy just thinking about it.

Anyway, I am standing in the shower, trying to gauge the blood loss rate.  I'm starting to think, "This is going to be one embarassing emergency room visit."  Then nature kicks in and my body manages to clot itself up.  Thank the gods for platelets!

Needed a little gauze to keep things closed up for the night.  Good thing it was the day before a date with a provider.  Everything was pretty much back to normal by then.  Gave her a heads-up on it and no problems.

Lesson learned:  When it comes to certain activities, it NEVER pays to be in a hurry!

Wow, Be careful you guys!! Knowing how sensitive your jewels can be, i cant imagine how you shave and or wax there!!! I would just keep it trimmed and tidy, i dont mind some hair at all, i actually kinda like it. I think it may be more popular to shave due to the adult industry becomeing more prevalent? And a possible misconception that we prefer it? Kiss, B.

thanks again for all the suggestions!
