I agree with Mr.Fisher.  I for one still have wet dreams and so have some of my past lovers.  For the girls it usually happened during the waking phase of the sleep cycle most often accompanied by an erotic dream. I had one girlfriend whose orgasms were so intense they woke her up. As for a mental orgasm while awake, I am yet to experience that one but read on:

This post came up originally on the National Boards, but was never really resolved... insight would be greatly appreciated!
"See if the majority agree.
For women the clitoral orgasm, most common accomplished oral, manual, or machine is much more easily achieved than the vaginal.  Vaginal is via penetration.  Can  have a combo obviously which may feel best.
I believe their is a comparision for guys.  When I get oral sex, the attention is mostly focused on the glans (head) and usually get senstive after orgasm.  Whereas with intercourse its more of a "penile" orgasm and not usually as sensitive.

Since embryologically the glans and clitoris are close relatives, I believe these are simalar as the vaginal and penile orgasms."

Now I also thought that in addition to above types of orgasms, both men and women (some) were capable of orgasm via prostate/g-spot stimulation.
Lastly, have heard it "claimed" that some women are capable of having an orgasm via breast/nipple stimulation...
Input please?  Thanks!

direct penile stimulation, although, I myself have not experienced one.

I would seem that mental processes, much more than physical ones, play the major role.

That is definately the case for me.

Is it normal for a male to orgasm without ejaculating ?The other day during a session it happened to me for the first time. The Lady was giving such a good HJ that I had the orgasm feeling, but did not ejaculate.I did ejaculate just fine later on.

Yes, altus62,
it most certainly is! The "dry orgasm" can be quite a thrill ride, in that you can experience intense feelings of pleasure, but without that feeling of "exhaustion" afterwards. HJs can come in handy [*smile] but BJs can also make for some great dry ones. Some men can have a couple of dry ones before erupting. It's all one big joyride!

Bless less mess,

Sgandolfs,  Yes, I have heard that these corresponding male/female organs develop out of similar early-embryo material.  That's why the feelings of males and female have similarities, despite the differences.  Love Goddess, is this embroyogenetic thesis now well established?  Any biologists on this Board care to comment?

Hello all,

I'm not a biologist, but yes, the embryogenetic thesis is well established. The penile/clitoral tissue comes from the same intial materia. The male and female embryo then go through separate sex differentiation by way of, among other things, the aromatase process - testosteronic stimulation. In the female, Müllerian ducts are paired ducts of the embryo which empty into the cloaca. The female develops an upper vagina, cervix, uterus and oviducts. In a male, the Wolffian ducts develops into a system of connected organs between the testis and the prostate, namely the rete testis, the efferent ducts, the epididymis, the vas deferens, the seminal vesicle, and the prostate. For this it is critical that the ducts are exposed to testosterone during embryogenesis. In the mature male, the function of this system is to store and mature sperm, and provide accessory semen fluid.

As for the clitoris vs glans penis orgasmic tissue issue, take the interesting case of sex reassignment surgery in male-to-female transsexuals. When surgeons go to create a clitoris for the transgender female, guess what tissue they use - yes, it's a piece of the glans penis. And if the surgeon has done his/her job right, the patient is capable of clitoral orgasms.

Now, are females also capable of uniquely vaginal orgasms? The well known researcher Hanny Lightfoot Klein did some interesting research on genitally mutilated women in African and Arab countries. She found that although these women were carrying scars and deformations from infibulations and clitoridectomies, some women reported "pleasurable" feelings which seemed interpreted by some as orgasms. Of course we don't need to go that far to find out. Just turn around and ask your average female out there. It's possible to have vaginal orgasms too, however, they surely translate into a different experience than a purely clitoral or G spot blowout.

Happy researching,
