I don't know how the agency scene is in your city, but I find they are great when you find yourself in the position you currently find yourself in.

Can't say there's not a day where a semi-pro pops doesn't up.  Easy to spot with the (usually) prodigious professional photos.  Not exactly sure if it's an advantage for you, but does present another option.
