From what I've read a positive IgG means immunity was built some time in the past  (contrary to IgM, which is just very recently). Immunity here does not translate to shield; it translates to recognized, or known. Asymptomatic carrier does not mean chronically free of symptoms. It means that at that very moment is not symptomatic even though it has been contracted at some point. Both negative is what you want.

Got comprehensive test at AIM last week. All negative even herpes type 1 and type 2.  Been hobbyist for 5 years, surprised I'm not at least positive for type 1.  Never had a cold sore or genital sore. Was hoping I was an asymptomatic carrier.
Does this mean I can get type 1 or type 2 and the sores?
